Austin Daye (DET)/Tayshun Prince (DET), Ed Davis (TOR) got to Memphis
    Rudy Gay goes to Toronto
    Jose Calderon goes to Detroit

Interestingly enough, John Hollinger, the former ESPN employee who created and the ESPN Trade Machine is based off of is in the Memphis front office and according to his trade machine, this nets the Grizz +3 wins.

    Ouch

    Moke Hamilton ‏@MokeHamilton
Wow. A very, very small contingent of 'fans' here at Barclays were just chanting 'NEw York Knicks' from the 200-level. Very small, but ouch.

    Mike Mazzeo ‏@MazzESPN
Chants of "New York #Knicks!" coming from the rafters here. #Nets

    It's a Heat-Nets game too

Alright now Kobe is padding his assists. Had an easy dunk but waited for Pau to catch up to him to feed him for the dunk

A similar one last night. He could've taken it to the basket himself on a break but dished it off.

    in other events:

    http://www.cbssports.com/nba/gametracker/recap/NBA_20130130_LAC@MIN

The Clippers looked a little groggy as they opened an eight-game, Oscars-related road trip. They picked up a couple of defensive 3-second violations and a bevy of technical fouls to fall behind by as many 11 points in the second quarter. Barnes got things started in the second quarter when he tried to shove his way through a screen set by Stiemsma, then threw a forearm to Stiemsma's chin. Officials reviewed the play and gave Barnes a flagrant foul-2, which brings an automatic ejection. Barnes was furious at the decision, and things got even testier moments later.

Stiemsma flattened Hill when he went up for a rebound under the basket, eliciting strong reactions from Butler and Ronny Turiaf. The two tough guys forcefully confronted Stiemsma, drawing technical fouls of their own. J.J. Barea hit both free throws for a 37-28 lead.

Kobe finally held to single digit assists (9), as the Lakers lose a close one in Phoenix. Big 4th quarter comeback by the Suns. Howard injured again.

All the guys I hear on TV keep insisting the Lakers will make the playoffs. I disagree. I think 25% chance at best.

Tonight was Nash's return to Phoenix. Also was Pringles' first game in Phoenix as LA coach (of course he was there as Knicks coach as well).

Spurs have the best record in the NBA. Boring motherfuckers. Somebody needs to break Tony Parker's leg soon or they will walk away with the conference title.

Stern is prepared. No fouls called on that little French guy.

obviously they won't "walk away" with the #1 seed because of OKC and the Clippers. Clippers will contend for it if Paul comes back soon.

Disappointing Thursday night. Dallas at Golden State is pretty bad anyway, and Curry and Kaman are out. You also have Memphis at OKC, which was looking good, until the Gay trade.

And for some reason the guys Memphis got aren't playing tonight, even though the trade happened last night. So Memphis is short handed. No Pondexter or the three they acquired.

I know man, I wish I can catch the late games, watching the Warriors play is a lot of fun. Harrison Barnes and Klay Thompson are up and coming stars - Marc Jackson is doing his thing over in Oakland, he should get considerations for COTY.

Walk away with the best record or walk away as Western Conference champions? Do you mean division title?

    Some funny guys.

Got to mention Curry and Lee too! Lee is playing outstanding.

I was just thinking about that last night. The first game tipped at about 8:20 Eastern. I wish they could start it earlier so the postgame show would be on a little earlier. The way it is now, they come on at like 1:15 AM and go past 2. Last week I tried to stay up and watch but they were still going and when it went past 2 AM I gave up.

as for the video, I was half-paying attention when it happened and saw the play (or at least the replay right after), but I missed the pierce reference

Carter and Pierce have a lot in common. Never elite players, both compiled stats over the course of many seasons, both couldn't win at all (pierce obviously got garnett+allen+rondo so he rode along for a title).

Indy is one of the few teams that hates Miami more than Boston in my opinion

After last night, it makes you wonder why LeBron doesn't just go into the paint 24/7, especially end of games instead of settling for long 2s
