He's still a raw player, and IMO, better suited to play DE, than OLB a real need for the Jets.

I think we'll play more 4-3 this year and a DE will be a need. We will be losing 3 LB's this year. Harris will play MLB, Davis will play WLB and we will have to bring in a new SLB

Coples is a very good kid with a promising future. Just, he is a better fit as an interior player. So, if Jets go with 4-3, then 3T goes to Coples, not Wilkerson.

Wilkerson would fit in NT role, but that means Ellis is an odd-man out, and Jets still don't have a good DE on the other side.

Ansah is definitely not a good decision for the Jets, especially after burning x2 1sts on DEs and x1 3rd on NT. Jets should get better at LB corp. Jets DL are set for a good decade as long as Ellis and Coples progress like they should, under Dunbar's guidance.

If Jones falls to the Jets I'd rather go in that direction.

I think Rex is going to play a hybrid defense a little of both.

    I can't see us going D-Line 3 years straight.

We need pass rushers. We need guys who can pressure the QB. Wilk at DE. Ellis/Pouha can still play the nose. Coples can play DT and Ansah can play DE.

He will be a limited player at DE in a Hybrid, he's not going to be a pass rusher as a 3-4 DE. We have other options at DE in a 3-4 (Wilk).....Jones is a 4 down LB in either defense.

I wouldnt really touch him at 9. If we traded back or picked up another first via trade he would be a great option though.

I saw some draft where they had the Giants taking Ansah... That right there would be a nightmare pass rush amd front four. Ansah is a clone of JPP and if we could get that type of player on our team we might as well get better if thats the case. The year JPP was drafted we were looking to get him but the Giants got to him first it would be crazy if we miss twice. As a side note we were suppose to select Bruce Irvin in round 2.

We have to look beyond the hybrid. We won't have the personnel for a 3-4 look. We are losing 3 LB's this year. I would expect that we will be a 4-3 defense.

Wilkerson at DE? A 300-lb monster as the edge rusher? in 4-3 scheme? Does that even make sense? If he has that much quickness with that much bulk and power, why don't you use him in the interior? (1) And I don't think Wilkerson as 4-3 DE would amount to anything he was as 3-4 DE. (2) In other words, that's wasting a top quality talent in hand for the prospect that you don't have (3) and MAY pan out. (4) Dumb idea all around. You build around what you already have in your hand. Not what you hope (this is a keyword: you 1. hope to draft him and 2. hope to get a good production out of that kid. Two HUGE ifs, to say the very least.) to get in the future.

The reason Ansah may work for Giants is that, their front four is all pass rushing DLs. They all shoot gaps. So, it works well against pass-oriented offenses, but when the offense starts applying heavy doses of rushing attack, they are exposed. (Only it takes a genius work of Schottenheimer to ignore this.)

As it stands, Jets DLs are pretty good at stopping the rush at the point of attack. Getting 4-3 DE doesn't make any sense at all. Jets need speed and playmaking potential from the second level.

if Jones is off the board, I would rather trade down and pick up Warmack to help solve the offensive line woes. Ansah isn't worth the 9th pick. Too raw.

if we trade down too much i don't think warmack is there. some mocks have him top 12, like a lot have the titans taking him

I take him at 9. He's played OLB in a 3/4. Everyone understands he's raw, whatevever that means. Strong, fast and powerful. No hesitation from me

makes sense since they have offensive line issues as well. I guess we take Warmack right then and there ... many say don't take a guard in the top 10, but I think you have to if this guy is as good as they say

it just makes sense for the future too. brick, mangold, and warmack would make a pretty young offensive line overall (by young i mean below 30 years old) if we got a competent RT or have austin howard improve while we insert vlad ducasse i think we would be good with the oline for a long time

While I do believe Ansah has great potential, he would be a terrible pick for the Jets.

For one thing he is not a 3-4 OLB and while the Jets may run more 4 man fronts going forward as long as Rex is here they will be a hybrid D and Ansah has no place in our 3-4.

Also he is as big a boom or bust prospect as there is in the draft and that is the last thing we need right now

Basically that last line is why I would stay away. We need surefire picks. To me, players like- Werner, Moore, Fisher and Warmack qualify. Jones has medical issues and I would stay away until thats fully cleared and Ansah can be a boom or bust pick.

If we take Warmack i think we wont have to pick oline in the draft for a long time because a line of dbrick vlad mangold warmack and howard is good maybe need a rt but other than that i think we will be set for a while vlad will be good i think
