the only acceptable/reasonable trade for Revis would be trading Revis and the Jets 1st (#9) to the Lions for the Lions 1st (#5) and their 2nd (#36). Why the Lions do it: I feel that the Lions are a solid team and a shut down corner could do wonders for them. Just look at their devision. In the NFC North there are some greats WRs including Harvin, Marshall, and anyone Rodgers is throwing the ball too. This one move makes the Lions more competitive and a serious devision contender. They are currently slightly over the cap but cutting guys like Burleson and Vanden Bosch plus you can restructure Stafford who's due 20M. Then with the 9th pick they can pick up a DE to replace Arvil and Vanden Bosch Why the Jets do it: The Jets move up in the 1st to select Jarvis Jones who IMO is the best player in this draft and won't make it past Cleveland if the Jets don't move up. With the lions 2nd rounder the Jets can go a number of ways including WR (Hopkins), RB (Bernard or Taylor), TE (Elifrd or Ertz), OT (FLuker), OG (Barrett Jones or Dallas Thomas), another OLB (Okafor), or Revis's replacement/ FS (David Amerson).

Revis for a 2nd and moving up 4 spots? Pass. Jarvis Joned couldn't pass a college physical, how's he going to pass a pro physical? I don't want him. I'd rather get Warmack. Plenty of affordable FAs we can go after and LB prospects in the middle rounds. If I had my way, we'd go 1 for 1 with SF, Revis for A Smith. Sure they won't bite, but that's my hope.

Honestly... I think this would be a horrible trade. Essentially trading Revis for a 2nd round pick and are moving only 4 spots (in a draft that doesnt really have a cant miss prospect that will be there). Jarvis Jones is a player that I can easily see falling in the draft. Personally, I wouldnt even take him at 9. That spinal injury scares the shit out of me. Now if we were only a passrusher away from making a SB run and had a small window, I would take Jones at 9. But on a rebuilding team that is a couple years from even being good again, and taking a player that may not play in the league long? Ill pass. So essentially for me, this is a 2nd round pick for Revis... Fuck that. We can get much more. We dont need swapping picks, we need to ADD picks. I think Detroit is a team that could use Revis, but I dont like the details of the trade at all.
No worries man. And it is horrible. So much talent. Hopefully he plays long enough to be financially secure. But, from a business side, I don't want his liabilities.
What adds to my worries with this guy is that he's gonna play LB. He's gonna be taking a heck of a punishment on the field. If he was WR like Michael Irving then I'd be more willing to overlook it.
If that's the minimum then you should prepare yourself for a 3rd round 2015-compensatory pick when Revis walks away from the Jets. Only way to pull off something close to that is if Jets bargain for a compensatory pick (which is possible) and it turns into a 1st/2nd rounder. Just remember, that other GM is gonna be fired if he gives up 2 first rounders for a CB that walks out on his franchise after only one season.
I think Revis to Denver for Chris Harris and a mid rounder or 2 would be ok. Denver is in win now mode. Bailey has slowed down, but he's still pretty good and the secondary would be very good next year with Revis and Bailey. Dumervil and Von Miller coming off the edge would help make it that much better.

The way this deal would work is like this: Broncos get: Darrelle Revis (Champ Bailey cap space) Lions get: Champ Bailey Jets get: Broncos 1st Broncos 2nd Lions 4th There is no way on earth that Champ Bailey is worth a 2nd and a 5th right now at 35. The Lions pay the 4th to the Jets for Bailey and the Broncos get the cap relief necessary to take on Revis.
