Fuck the conditionals. They always bite us on the ass. Make clean deals and you always know where you are going forward.

Hes not a good corner he's the best in the league. By far and if we could get two firsts for Keshawn we could get two for revis

Think the team most likely to overpay would be the Broncos.

As #1 AFC Seed this playoffs, they should feel like they're knocking on the SB door but their window is very small. Elway's window is gonna be 2 more season, maybe? I can see Broncos giving up this season 1st rounder + conditional pick for next season (which could be 3rd or 2nd rounder). That'll be two high picks for Jets.

Also, helps the Broncos big time in their SB pushes before Peyton retires.

That sounds great and all but this is the real world with real concerns. Injury and how he will play coming back from injury are a question mark. I think this is a reasonable deal for both sides if they want a hall of fame corner.

Those days are gone. Keyshawn was a bust at two 1st Rounders and teams nowadays won't squander that kind of capital up front.

Depends on the team. A team looking to make a one year run could do it, they might even offer a low #1. If you are the patriots for example, why not?

I think the most logical thing we're going to see is a deal agreed to before hand, the "What is he worth as a one year rental" is probably a worthless discussion.

I would say Revis, in this type of deal, has a better chance of succeeding compared to what Keyshawn ever did.

I don't think so either, especially since the rookie wage scale got changed, #1's are more valuable. Two #1's was my example in the earlier thread of a deal the Jets must take if offered.

A much as we love the guy for what he's done for the Jets, he's still one egg in the basket. And you don't rely on one egg in the basket to carry the entire defense. It's still a team effort (and team defense).

So, if I'm a GM somewhere else, I say to myself, "Yeah, I'd like to get this guy with a #1 and maybe a....??????. But I'm certainly not giving two #1s. What if he goes down again with that same inury? I look like shit!"

I'm not even sure what you're trying to communicate there.

    I'll give a #1 and a veteran player/or a conditional 3 for 2014.

Baltimore - $15.7M in cap space
    • Why: Ravens are losing a legend and a leader in Ray Lewis. They could never replace him but a guy like Revis would sure make the pain a lot less. They're already in the superbowl and have the cap space. They obviously already have a well rounded team and can spare the picks.
    • Offer: 2013 1st round pick (31 or 32) + 2013 4th round pick + 2014 conditional 3rd that can elevate to a 2nd and a 3rd based on playing time and probowl or superbowl
Cincinnati - $55.1M in cap space
    • Why: You're competing in a division with the Ravens and Steelers who can throw the ball all over with Wallace/Brown and T. Smith/Boldin and need an edge to take the next step. The offense young looks promising, and the run defense is pretty stout but the pass defense was 26th in the league.
    • Offer: 2013 1st round pick (21) + 2013 5th round pick + 2014 3rd
    Denver - $18.5M
    • Why: Torrey Smith, aggressive GM, small window.
    • Offer: 2013 1st (28) + 2013 3rd
    Indianapolis - $46M
    • Why: You have a great young QB who already makes the players around him on offense better and some good talent to go with him. Lock up a great CB tandem for years to come in Revis and Davis.
    • Offer: 2013 1st (24) + 2013 3rd
Minnesota - $16.1M in cap space
    • Why: Aaron Rodgers, Megatron, Brandon Marshall
    • Offer: 2013 1st (22) + 2013 5th round pick + 2014 conditional 4th that can elevate to a 2nd (PT & PB OR SB)
New England - $18.6M in cap space
    • Why: Defense sucks. Tom Brady. Small Window.
    • Offer: doesn't matter, we aren't trading to the Pats.

I'm trading your posts for a bag of shit. The shit is probably more valuable, so I'll have to offer it an opt out in year 2.
