Sorry, but I totally disagree with this. Besides Barry Sanders who ran behind a pretty bad Detroit Lions O-Line, I cannot possibly think of a good RB (or good running game) behind a poor/average offensive line. I dont believe in putting the cart before the horse.
Tough to compare Lacy to Richardson or even Ingram. The only thing they have in common is their school. Lacy has great burst and toughness, and he is much more elusive than Greene. That TD he scored on the dump off pass was very impressive. On the other hand, I was generally unimpressed with his routes and hands. He seems like a two down back at the next level.
Warmack is a fucking man playing with boys... I've been on this guy since November. He absoilutely needs to be our guy. Fuck this rotation with Ducasse and whoever else. We owe it to Brick to put somebody of substance next to him and move Slausen to the right side.
If Warmack is an All-Pro, not Pro Browl, guard, then you can't lose taking him. However, it's hard to pass up a pass rusher if that's one of your biggest needs. The position is hard to fill.
Not sure I'm seeing Lacy as a number one quality back. This was the best game Ive seen him play, like I said he runs behind an amazing offensive line. Some of his runs were absurd
Also......Linemen have a longer shelf life and keep your QB's jersey clean...... How did Greene look when Faneca and Woody were blowin people up? Teams that are strong in the trenches will always be competitive. :up:
^This. Just like a house needs a foundation. Chance Warmack and at least another well coached, NFL-ready OL such as Barrett Jones. The Raiders in their hayday had two different philosophies in play: coach John Madden maintained that you started with a great offensive line while owner Al Davis preferred building off a pair of shutdown corners. I would love it if the Jets got Chance in the first and Barrett in the second. paired with Brick, Mangold and Howard. we would have the best OLine in the NFL.
I don't think Jones will be there in the second My guess right now will be somewhere in the 18-24 range. In fact I'd almost bet that Dallas Takes him.
in fact, I'm willing to bet at this point, and this is well before the combine where player's will rise and fall, I think 6 O-linemen go in the first round this year, maybe 7 or 8. I'm 99% certain Joeckel, Fisher, Lane Johnson, Warmack, Jones and cooper all go in the first. A pretty good chance Fluker goes in the first and an outside chance Aboushi may slip in.

Idk if thats bad news really, because a major point in trading Revis is so that we dont allocate so much of our resources in the back end and the CB position.
1. As long as Jets don't offload both Cro AND Revis at the same time, (which I think is a good start actually...) they don't need to burn 1st on CB. (See how the defense held up this year.) 2. Getting extra 1st and 2nd this year (That's selling Revis cheap) would help immensely. Jets can double down on OLBs and OLs at the top of two rounds, AND get a chance to address safeties in 3rd or 4th. Depending on who is available, Jets can either double down on safeties, or grab RB/TE/WR 3. I wouldn't mind prospects from Alabama in general, except the players in skill position. (If I had to pick, I'd look at OL/DL/LBs)
The pass rushers that will be available at 9 are nothing special. Dion Jordan in the last three years recorded 2.5, 7.5, and 5.0 sacks, while playing with a huge lead almost every snap. Mingo has his own question marks. Okafor might be the best of the second tier guys, and is he that much better than Jenkins or Carradine? Heck, JohnSimon has more sacks than dion Jordan. However there's no question that Warmack is way better than any interior linemen in the third.
