The Raven D scored a TD and held the high powered Den O to 21 pts. The problem was STs which allowed 2 TDs.
Didn't Brian schottenheimer run a west coast system? That's what it looked like to me. Slants and WR screens all day.
1. He maybe hungry for a hotdog 2. WANTS to improve does not mean he will. 3. The only football he can improve on is Madden 13.
Their offense still scored 31 points. Without that they would've been dead in the water. Do you think the Jets offense during their recent playoff runs would'v been able to pull that off?
He could get a Doctorate in Applied QB'ing for all I care. It will do nothing to change the fact that he is a horrible NFL QB. It must be slow season for the sports media if they need to write garbage stories like this. Throw out the schemes, stats and all the other crap. Use the eye test and that will tell you all you need to know about how awful Sanchez is.
They scored 28 in regulation, the Jets scored 28 in regulation at Foxboro against a better team in the '10 div rd. I'm not trying to take shots at Flacco, I admire what he has done but much like Eli wasn't elite b/c he had a good postseason neither is Flacco. if Flacco wasa Jet our fanbase would be whining about him too and if he played for us this year we would have seen similar results that Sanchez gave us.
David Carr is a good example. He had all the talent but it just disappeared and was never the saem. I'm worried Sanchez was headed that way. Hopefully he turns it around this offseason If Mark Sanchez doesn't turn it around, his name is definitely going to become a verb, "Well the Dolphins really Sanchez'ed Tannehill who looked like he had a bright future" Realistic expectations. If he comes out and has a career year, I'm sure everyone will be thrilled. But he had some major problems last year that need fixing.
except David Carr never had any success in this league, sanchez has had plenty of it. Sanchez knows he can play, Carr still doesn't.
Why are you comparing Flacco to Sanchez? I assure you Ravens fans are absolutely thrilled to have Flacco as their QB right now. 99.99% of Jets fans are NOT happy at all with Sanchez. You keep talking about 4 years ago like it's relevant today. It's not. Sanchez blows - has regressed severely, and Flacco has continued to ascend, especially in the post season. Sanchez had some nice post season games years ago. No one cares anymore except for someone trying to defend Sanchez to the death - like a Tebot.
I don't think overall that Flacco's in the same class as guys like Rodgers,Brady etc.;that's really not my argument though. My argument is that the Ravens offense had to put up those points in order to win. Also, how can you definitively say that the Patriots team at that time was a better team than the Broncos? One can argue that the Broncos defense coming into their game against the Ravens was better than the Patriots defense 2 years ago; thus, theoretically making it harder for the Ravens to come back.
He said it, and is incorrect. His arm is adequate for this level but it definitely isn't among the tops in the league. If you were to ask Mark Sanchez he probably agree with me lol.
How about 4 seasons...he has only played for seasons. I still think him and VY should be the qb competition though.
I didn't bring it up. Raven fans today are thrilled, a month ago not so much. That's the point, like us 2 years ago we were thrilled w/ mark and now we hate him. Give Mark those weapons and he has similar results. I'm not a quotter like the rest of you guys, I don't want every player let go and every coach fired the minute something goes wrong. I'm sure you are on to the next QB then in 2 years when he fails on to the next and so on and so on. I would think you understand how hard it is to win in january and saw mark play a huge role for us so you must understand he can play in this league, right? For one they have a better QB and winning in Foxboro is tougher than winning in denver.I think the '10 Pats were better than the '12 Pats especialyl when you consider the injuries NE had in postseason.
this is why i still like Sanchez. He actually gives a shit. He still prepares as if he is going to be a starter, even though chances are he's not. Sure 80% of the time he's awful on the field, but his heart is always in the right place. I hope he proves doubters wrong. Don't get me wrong however, i am hoping more that the Jets have a competent passing offense next season.
I hope he does win it. If you think about it, he's our best bet, because of the money that's due to him, and also because he had good playoff experience. If he wins the competition that means he's improved, or at least better than the competition, and considering he was ranked at the bottom of the starting QB list, that's a step up. You can't be mad at Sanchez because he's actively looking to improve his game, even if it means doing extra work in the off season while most are vacationing or resting. He has the right attitude, he just needs to elevate his game, and this system could be the one that does it.
