he must have heard him on the radio...

garcia was just on with someone, i dont remember if it was one of the big guys like boomer and cartin or francesser.. may have been joe and evan but also may have been on the weekend with richard near or however you spell his name.

they were actually asking him about mark and blah blah blah id love for him to come out.

it was kinda funny, and made me think of terrell owens calling him a sissy boy.

The last thing I think Mark Sanchez is, is stupid. Dude doesn't have any self confidence in himself or his teammates. When you don't have confidence in yourself, everything tends to go to shit. That said, I don't think he'll restore his confidence with this team.

If he were stupid, he wouldn't be succeeding Monday through Friday in practice and in the film room.

Everyone who thinks we are bringing in a new number 1 quarterback next year is dreaming. Maybe, just maybe, we can clear enough cap room to bring in another team's discarded former starter or backup, but a top QB prospect is 2014 at the earliest. Sanchez will be here and will likely be the starter so instead of criticizing him for trying to improve why can't people at least give him a break? He knows he had a terrible year but people here seem to think he should just quit football and leave. He's trying to improve but even then people here jump on him.

I'm sure everyone on this forum would just concede they had a terrible season and would quit and walk away from $14 million in guaranteed money.

If we don't, AT THE VERY LEAST, bring in another veteran QB to challenge (and I mean legitimately challenge) Sanchez for the starting job, then we are a hopelessly lost franchise. Personally, I would go one step further and cut bait with Sanchez, but to not even bring another QB into the picture would be organizationally criminal.

Like other guys have said, he's on the team, and as long as he is ill br rooting for him to succeed.

It makes no sense to root against him of he's on the team.

They think Alex Smith could do much better. Give me a freaking break. Let the kid finish the year here then cut him in 2014 along with Holmes. Draft a QB in 2014. No sense in cutting him now and losing all that cash. You paid for this investment, the Jets need to see this through for one more year.

Who do you see out there that the Jets can bring in?

Smith? - yeah send our 2nd round pick over
    Flynn? - send a 3rd
Moore? - doesn't fit the system, will get offers from there teams
Tarvaris? - go ahead, give him a shot

The people that are saying cut him don't understand that the team takes a bigger blow by cutting him now than leaving him on the roster for the year.

Let the damn guy get some confidence and he will improve. He looks like a helpless guy on the field. Its sad to watch.

And yeah good luck with Alex Smith.

At least he's trying. Good for him. Plus, it seems like a large portion of our fanbase really wants a shot at the top draft pick next year...starting Sanchez may be one way to get it (though we'd be sacrificing Rex, and our good defensive scheme, in the process).

You're missing the point. All of those guys are unappealing and/or unproven. This much is obvious. Unfortunately, the guy we have now is just as unappealing. This organization owes it to itself, and to its fans, to finally hold Mark Sanchez accountable for his mediocre to outright poor play. We need fresh blood at the quarterback position. Going into another training camp with Sanchez as the annointed starting QB would be an uttter disgrace and a total mockery.

Lets hope Mark can build himself back up otherwise we are in for another rough few years between cap hell and a lack of QB talent available.

And having a Harvard grad as a QB has done what for the Bills? Take your time answering...its a long offseason.

The poster obviously isn't referring to actual intelligence, he is referring to Sanchez's propensity for turnovers and horrific decisions (Or, what some people may call STUPID mistakes). DUH.

I gotta hand it to Mark on trying to get a head start on the West Coast offense and understanding it. I will even say this, I think he's a good fit for that type of offense; he's a mobile QB who can make the throws. Now that being said, it would be a disgrace to go into training camp without a true QB competition. He's proven that he is a turnover machine and has no right to feel his spot is safe. If I were GM I would cut him, but with the way his contract is, you can't cut him without a huge cap hit. Now if he can resurrect his career, it will do nothing but benefit the jets, so I am rooting for that. QB's have in the past resurrected there careers in new systems that fit them. I know a certain HOF QB who was in the USFL, then with Tampa who was deemed a bust. It took Steve Young to go to San Fran in the West Coast offense where that system fit his skill set to see him blossem. So it can happen, I'm not saying it will, but it can happen. I think the West Coast offense will fit mark. If it he does not find success with this system, then it's safe to say he is a bust.

He should be practicing in this NY cold rather than sunny California. Dude plays in East Rutherford, NJ. Get your ass used to playing in crap conditions.

Duh, getting hit and having the ball stripped, is the result of two things.
Poor OL play...and holding the ball wrong which is a coaching point.

You cannot judge the ints, without knowing the play book..in all probability it's a 50/50 issue.

    But....

After Scotty and Sparano, neither of which are decent OCs...let's see what MM can do here.

Then there's no room for debate

He clearly needs competition, but everyone on the above list is an absolute joke.

Crap. Every off season we here about Sanchez' workouts, Sanchez talks with this guy, Sanchez' work ethic. Then we get the ex-Jets who tell us he does not work hard at all. Guy is a puff of smoke.
