Right now, doubtful. JMO, I don't believe the Jets want to invest a 1st Round pick in a QB this year, there will be some better options next year. I think the Jets will grab a QB with their 2nd or 3rd Round picks. The Jets have spoken with Tyler Wilson and Zach Dysert, something to keep an eye on. Glennon is ranked by some as the top QB, and is probably a late Rd 1 target at this point, but things always change. Glennon has done very well at Senior Bowl practice this week.
From Walter Football: Tuesday 1/22 Senior Bowl New York Jets - Miami of Ohio quarterback Zach Dysert, Oklahoma St. punter/kicker Quinn Sharp and North Carolina linebacker Kevin Reddick, Leon McFadden, CB, San Diego State ....all met with Jet's personnel. From NFL Draft Countdown: Terrence Williams, WR, Baylor Aaron Dobson, WR, Marshall Per NY Post: Tyler Wilson, QB, Arkansas Denard Robinson, WR/QB, Michigan
yes, there's a chance. But I think you could see him taken before us by the Bills or to the Chiefs if they can find a way to drop back to later in the top 10.
Post #1 has the updated list. I may have missed a few, I'm still researching. http://forums.theganggreen.com/showpost.php?p=2703762&postcount=1
Im real Big on Zac Dysert.... For some reason I think he will have a good pro career. He is a good pocket passer but has enough mobility to run for a first down if necessary. At 6'4" and 230ish he has the measurements plus 12, 000 passing yards I'd like him to be a NY Jet next season
i am inclined to agree with u. been doing a bit of research on QB's for sunday and while none of them jump at u, several of them are intriguing from a 2nd/3rd round standpoint.
Let him Sit out and learn for a bit and get eased into the game though he wont learn much from Sanchez he still can get a sideline view of whats going on
From where? Yesterday I read Glennon rebounded from a somewhat off day monday and had a great day tuesday.
The Combine will tell us more on Dysert... With the Senior bowl you work with a lot of players who arent good with route running . The same can be said for Dyserts throwing but the combine will tell all
If Dysert played on a better team, his stock would be way higher. I'd be way comfortable with him if he was available in the 3rd-4th round. I just don't like his out route throws. He has a good arm, but sometimes it looks like he over does it or lolly gags his out routes. He leads receivers pretty well, it would be nice if his receivers held onto more of those passes. Watch his tape against Ohio State, he actually played well considering his numbers. His team was pretty damn awful all season.
I really liked Glennon as a 2nd-3rd round guy. I personally would hope the Jets don't reach for him at 9.
I think Glennon will be drafted in Rd 1 come April, based on need more than value. A lot of people compare him to Flacco, I'm not too sure about that.
I agree, I just hope it's not our Jets. I actually mocked Glennon to us in the 2nd round a few months ago, and even then I thought it was a reach. I think I'd rather someone who can move around a bit, and make some throws on the run. I know I'll get killed for this one. However, I do like EJ Manuel a bit. He's a project sure. Although, he can sling it, and he can move pretty well. Plus, the guy is nearly 6'5. After Manuel, I like Dysert. I really don't want them to reach on a QB in this years draft. Let's hope someone else reaches for Glennon.
He doesn't throw the ball down field. It's mostly a product of the offense he ran but that is something he needs to prove he can do.
Dysert took shots down field and he actually had decent touch. That said, his receivers dropped most of those balls, which is probably why they didn't take many shots.
Blaine Gabbert was a reach last year, just based on need. Hopefully the Jets won't reach for a QB in Round 1. I expect the Jets to either pick up a FA, trade (Flynn) or draft one in Rd 2 or 3.
