Bray's lack of mobility along with his vagina just screams SCOTT MITCHELL at me. Nassib can't drive the ball down the field and that's bearing itself out at the senior bowl from what I've read. He's worthless down the field and worse yet, inaccurate in the short and medium passing game. Nassib being talked about as a late-first or early-second rounder just leads me to conclude that every QB is going to get overdrafted, so stay away. If the Jets were to select a QB at 9 I'd be vehemently against it no matter who it is.
We should target NC State QB For the Morningwood style of Offense, we should consider Mike Glennon in my opinion. I follow college football a lot and every time NC State played, this guy was impressive. Have any of you seen him in action? 6'6 Flacco style Qb with some elusiveness. He led the ACC in passing yards per game. Any thoughts? He just seems to be the guy we might be looking for.
Yeah, he runs like a turtle. That being said, I would like to have him as a quarterback of the Jets. He is far and away a better QB than Sanchez.
I know the general consensus is that none of these qb's are good enough to be first round talent. But I think one of these qb's may end up being surprises IF we draft a QB I hope we get that diamond in the rough ala Andy Dalton or Russell Wilson.
Wouldn't touch him. He's tall like Flacco but not as durable or strong IMO. Also I saw him against Vandy in the bowl game and he threw a couple of costly INT's when NC St had a chance to tie the game. I've followed him since he was in HS outside of DC. He never lived up to the hype he had coming out of HS. He throws a lot of INT's which is a huge red flag. He had a better junior year than he did senior year, passing yards withstanding. He throws a good deep ball but his intermediate game leaves a lot to be desired.
I know what your saying, doesn't have mobility or speed but has elusiveness to avoid pressure in the pocket. The tape I have watched on Glennon he looks to be a pretty good QB, I wouldn't mind adding him.
His receivers and tight end had major drops all season. He has the tools/size. Im not saying round 1 but worth a look. Some guys just have it and he seems to be that guy in my opinion. Like i said, just wanted to see what you guys think. The bowl game wasnt great but he did lead alot of comebacks and his D wasnt good either. (see Clemson game)
One thing to look at is his throws on the move are pretty accurate. He can throw the deep ball well and has a good pocket presence.
There's a big thread thats supposed to be all things QBs... For Glennon, I like him a good amount. Has good arm talent and good accuracy. I have come to question some of his decision making and his lack of quick feet though. He has a big frame to grow into and could weigh up to 250. I think with a year on the bench and supporting talent he could be a good QB. I'd be hesitant starting any of these QB's from day 1. They all have flaws and all need coaching. If he's there in the 2nd we would really have to think about it. Other than that, he would be a reach IMO.
We have too many needs to address. RB, OL, WR, LB. They should all be priorities in the early rounds. I wouldn't use any picks above Round 3 on a project QB. Wait until 2014 to draft a QB early or keep looking FA for one. Our lack of speed from the RB, WR and LB positions is glaring.
Come draft day, we may need to trade up to get him. IMO, he is best in class. Right now, Glennon is almost a lock at #8, IMO.
It would go down as one of the stupidest in a long line of Jets draft day blunders if they were to even consider taking this project QB at #8 in the first round. Seriously.
I think he goes before #9 and I think Barkley and Smith go before 9. If Locker, Ponder, Gabbert and Sanchez can go early, you'll see a run of desperation on QB's.
At this point he's a first round pick and i touch none of these QBs in the first round as of this point.
