Wow SU knocked off L'Ville, Great effort by MCW down the stretch, that kid made a great steal and dunk to take the lead and win.
congrats 'Cuse fans. Great win for the heels, they bat up a pretty good maryland team. This team is finally starting to get it, Wednesday is a must win vs. a bad tech team before heading to Raleigh for a Sat night game w/ NC State who will be out for blood w/ the Heels dominating this series for so long.
The Cuse Louisville game was great to watch. Louisville made great adjustments on Triche after half time. Carter-Williams reemed his poor play in the first half, at the end of the second half. Hopefully this Southerland mess gets sorted out, they have no outside shooting at the moment.
Thanks that is one of the better college games to watch I have seen in a long time. The last minute was unbelievable. L'ville has become a rival in the last several years. Which will continue into the ACC. JB and Rick P seem to have hit a rocky stretch in their friendship and neither wants to loose against the other. Solid win for UNC. I have watched NC State twice this year and to me they are cocky and not in a good way. Good luck Saturday!
I actually think Grant's game is better fit for SU. I get that Southerland is a threat from 3 but that is a double edged sword. Southerland's long 3 is inconsistant and leads to easy fastbreak points. Grant's game is more consistant and a better fit within the rest of SU's players strengths. He has a crafty midrange game and a knack for the ball. We need others to hit 3's I agree with that and it would be great to have Southerland back. But if he does comeback I bet he looses alot of his minutes to Grant. JB has already implied that may be the case in one of his postgames.
Hey Nova fans! I saw this this weekend and thought you may find it interesting. http://www.cbssports.com/collegebas...tatus-by-carter-williams-ascent-as-premier-pg Carter-Williams was never considered a heralded recruit until late in his high school career at St. Andrew's in Barrington, R.I. He wanted to attend Villanova, but Jay Wright didn't offer him a scholarship when he took a visit to the campus. So he wound up at Syracuse, where Boeheim was one of the few coaches that always felt as though MCW was a natural point guard.
'Nova knocks off #5 Louisville 73-64. Great win for a young team that's improving. In 4 of the 5 BE games before this one 'Nova was tied or had the lead with 5 minutes left and was 2-3. Just need to learn how to win.
Definitely a miss by Jay but isn't the first and probably won't be the last Philly area guy to get out.
No, this team needs to learn how to play basketball for 40 minutes. That is exactly why they lost to Pitt and Providence, but won this game.
Philly has become SU's backyard! Waiters, Scoop, Rak Christmas, Rick Jackson, and BJ Johnson (2013). Nova recruited alot of these guys and lost but MCW wanted to go to Nova. They just didn't want him.
Like you said it's been like that. Same way 'Nova has done extremely well in NY and northern NJ under Jay Wright getting guys like Randy Foye, Allen Ray, Curtis Sumpter, Jason Fraser, Corey Fisher, Corey Stokes, Dominick Cheek, etc. At the time MCW was being recruited it looked like we should've been OK at guard.
