Source says almost living lock Phil Jackson will become front office face of Seattle-bound Kings' franchise. Won't coach. Will mentor choice

Deal was struck in principle over weekend of Jan. 5-6, sources told Y! By then, Sacramento mayoral bid to find local group was too late.

Cleveland stinks without Varejao, and unfortunately for them, he's now out for the season with a blood clot. They're going to have a lot of ping pong balls.

Lou Williams also out for the season.

Varejao was on my fantasy basketball team. Tough loss.

I believe this weekend starts the ESPN on ABC games on Sundays. Love those

yeah I'm going to be missing the first one. I have a wedding to attend.

    OKC/LAL is a good one.

They wind up matching up a lot of top teams. You have the two TNT games and the two ABC games each week.

The Lakers have actually had bad luck (aside from all the injuries). They have a better point differential than every team starting with 7th in the West. Only five teams in the conference have a better point differential. Golden State is 25-15 with +1.3 per game. The Lakers are 17-23 with +1.5.

OKC/Clippers tomorrow, the top two teams in the NBA. That should've been a national TV game.

Barkley announcing in Philly, where he got a standing ovation (like Reggie in Indy).

He said in the third quarter that he's a better player right now than any of Philly's big men.

Pringles is killing the Lakers. He doesn't like a big lineup so he keeps Gasol on the bench for most of the game.

Lakers just do a terrible job hiring coaches. Mike Brown was a bad hire, then they dump him bizarrely, and then they hire a guy who doesn't believe in using two of the Lakers' three best players at the same time.

The only way this team could do anything would be with Kobe, Nash, Gasol, and Howard working out how to play together.

He's probably right. The Spurs were terrible outside the arc tonight and still sleepwalked to a win.

Chuck also made fun of Bynum's ridiculous hair.

yeah he went on for a minute that it's not a matter of age, hair like that is just not cool (referring to one of the Philly active players and Bynum).

Kobe just tweeted throughout the airing of his 81 point game on NBATV. Kinda of cool to see his perspective.

Is that right? Lakers with 11-1 odds to win the Championship?

    Come on now...

books cheat you on the longshots. Like betting a team to win the title before the season. The longshots are not fairly priced. Lakers should be like 35/1 at least.

I'd give at least 3/1 on them even making the playoffs.

What D'Antoni is doing in LA is frustrating me because it feels so similar to what happened in NYK

Twitter is perfect for athletes/famous people to stroke their own ego. It's what caused the big rise in "humblebrags"

they wanted Kobe to tweet during it. The whole thing was set up. He said he had never watched it, so they decided to air it and they wanted him to tweet, is the way I understand it.
