I'm surprised their isn't a thread for this already. Ravens vs. 49ers Date: 02-03-2013 Location: Mercedes-Benz New Orleans Superdome Series: Ravens lead all-time series 3-1 Last Meeting: November 24, 2011 @Baltimore Ravens 16 - 49ers 6 ESPN Stats & Info @ESPNStatsInfo Ray Lewis has 41.5 career sacks. The first one? Jim Harbaugh.
After the Ravens did me, and I have to assume a large majority of NFL fans, the huge favor of assuring that the Putzriots would not appear in yet another SB, and since I am not a Niners fan, I have to root for Baltimore in this one.
My dad is a 9ers fan so I fell like I should cheer for them for that reason. My sister is a Pats fan though (and thus cheering for the 9ers) so I feel like I should cheer for the Ravens. Tough call.
49ers are the first team I followed. Started when I bet a school friend in grade school on the 49ers/Dolphins superbowl. I picked the 49ers and have followed them and football since. I can't believe it's been 18 years since Steve Young won them a superbowl in 1995. I'm getting old.
Rooting for the Ravens. If I remember correctly, Ed Reed does not have a Super Bowl Ring. I want him to get one, one of my favorite players in the NFL.
I'm rooting for an interesting game into the 4th. Nothing worse than the game being over by half time.
I'm rooting for Reed and Lewis to get the SB ring too... I wonder if Ed Reed will retire if he gets his ring. PS Add a poll
I just want to see a close game. I may pull for the Ravens since it's Lewis' last run but really don't care who wins.
Why doesn't anyone mention Randy Moss potentially getting a ring? He doesn't have one, does he? Good shot this is his last season too.
No, he doesn't have one. There will be a Future HOF'er getting his first ring this Super Bowl. Either Randy Moss or Ed Reed.
If it was anyone else other then the 49ers playing id be pulling for Baltimore to win, ray Lewis and Ed Reed have been two of my favorite players, and I like how they play. That said that's not the case and I hope they walk off the field in defeat next Sunday
3 of the last 5 Super Bowls have come down to a TD being scored in the final seconds to win the game, with an underdog winning two of those (both the Giants, including maybe the greatest SB upset of all time). and the other two had the underdog winning, with the Packers holding off the Steelers and Saints coming back on the Colts, with the favored team having a chance to tie or take the lead late in the 4th Quarter. the last 5 Super Bowls have been nothing but great games, maybe the greatest stretch of Super Bowl games in history. how does this match up look like it is going to be better than any of those games just by the teams involved?
I think this will be one of the better SuperBowls... Rooting for the Ravens but dont care if the 49ers win. This one will be enjoyable to watch
I think the Niners win, and pull away at the end, making the score not indicative how how close it will be for most of the game.
