I feel bad for Tebow in the sense that he's done nothing this year and pretty much said nothing this year and everyone hates him for stuff he can't control.
Now that a season's played out I agree. Hasn't said anything negative about anyone & has been pretty low-key himself. I get the feeling that if he had the power he'd reduce the media attention he draws.
Who could have ever imagined Tebow would never do his famous Tebow TD genuflect in a Jets uniform. Not even in a preseason game. Hard to believe he never crossed the goal line. Not even once.
My son andi were talking about this the other day,,simply amazing . Ps I am almost certain that someone will get Tannenbaum quotes or an interview with his side of this,,,I would think everyone would want to distance themselves from taking credit for Tebow ! Funny thing is most of us in our right minds knew this was a mistake when they traded for him :shit:
Well if they brought in QB coach who does the wild cat, why do people believe Tebow will be tradedo released?
Boomer n Carton were saying that Idzyk luvs Tavaris Jackson,,,that might explain David Lee or it might not,,,,just sayin
I just want Tebow to go. I seriously cannot stand the thought of him being here. It was a mistake for him to come to the team. I don't care who made that mistake, just acknowledge it by cutting him, please. That being said, it's kinda odd that a candidate right after not getting hired all of a sudden talks about what was mentioned in the interview. It's sort of whatever, but still. There is a 1 percent chance that Tebow stays. He's taking up a roster spot.
Well, if Tanny forced him on Woody, why couldn't he force him on Rex? Tebow played virtually never. Does that tell us who was running the show. And maybe why he is still coach?
I disagree. While the hiring of Lee was curious at best, I don't think it has anything to do with Tebow. I think if anything these comments signal that the Jets have all but moved on from Tebow. While I don't believe Woody's lame attempt to pass the buck - at least it signals an acknowledgement that it was a terrible idea to bring him in. I'm willing to bet he got quite a few opinions on Tebow from the parade of interviews he set up. I'm guessing that when the topic of Tebow came up in the process everyone of these GM candidates expressed how it was a bad idea to have him on the team. Woody, in order to make it seem like he's not the idiot that he is, made these comments. I wouldn't be suprised if the Jets run some wildcat next fall, but it won't be with Tebow. He's gone.
I smell BS anytime our owner speaks. I think all 3 (Woody, Tanny & Rex) had an even hand in this stupid move. Woody's motive - to get the back pages of the newspapers away from NYG after their Super Bowl win. Along w/the dumb idea that Tebow could sell tickets & PSLs, - only WJ would believe that. Rex, - he wanted the option to ground & pound w/the QB carrying the ball. Not to mention his selection of Tony Sparano as O-Coordinator and his wildcat experience. This, along with Rex's season-long silence on the matter (remember - only a couple weeks after the draft, he made a point to speak out & say Stephen Hill was not his choice), as he is usually quick to tell the unfiltered story about anything. Rex's silence means to me that he was on board with the idea from the get-go & certainly pushed it along,.....only to have buyer's remorse after a couple of practices. Tanny? -- he'd jump at any opportunity to trade draft picks. In the end, I dont think we'll ever know the truth.
Jersey sales, merchandising in general. Also, no one knew he wasn't going to play before the season started. The national tebots fan base probably paid his salary with jersey sales alone.
Yea i feel terrible for a backup QB who is raking in millions on the field and off, Boo Hoo poor Timmy:sad:
Well Sunquist didn't waste anytime before running to the media to divulge the contents of a private meeting with an NFL owner. Good luck getting a job anywhere... Gotta love our GM search, out of the 8 or so teams looking for a GM not one of the guys in contention with the Jets (Idzik, Sunquist, and Khan) was even interviewed by another team.
Woody is making it seem as if Mr.T or Rex or both cornered him in a room and had guns pointed at his head, Mr.T-(Pulls out gun points it at Woody) Listen you sun of a bitch im bringing in Tebow whether you like it or not Rex- (Pulls pistol out of his sock) We make the football decisions Woody go sell baby powder you worthless old dickhead Woody- (looking old and frail) Ok (picks up the phonee and calls Elway)
I think Woody's point is he was against bringing Tebow here but in the end trusted the advice of his football people like Tanny and Rex. I doubt he's lying, that's what an owner should do.
