So Trestman, a renowned QB guru, just 1 day after becoming the HC of the Bears snaps up Matt Cavanaugh as the QB coach.
Maybe it was really Sanchez fault for sucking and Cavanaugh is actually a good coach?

PS I was one of the first on the anti-Cavanaugh bandwagon so this is most definitely not an "I told you so" thread.

I doubt that it was Sanchez like you said. He's regressed since entering the league. (I'm guessing that its because of you know who.)

I don't like the new QB coach for us, but maybe he can get Sanchez to be Sanchize.

It was totally the QB coach's fault that Sandouche was a failure. I mean coaching him to run into his own player's stationary ass and then fumble was a really dumb decision.

Yeah letting him come to that point is at fault at him. Did Sanchez improve since the beginning of his third year? At any point did Sanchez show signs of improving? Did he ever improve his footwork or ball securty over the 4 years of Sanchez? Yeah I think he is partly to blame

But if he coached Sanchez for 4 years, don't you think he spent time TRYING to coach him into good habits? At some point you have to realize that some players just dont have it. And if they dont have it, it isnt the coach's fault. Surely the coach was trying to make him successful, but just because he can't doesnt meant he's a bad coach.

If you're a school teacher, and one of your kids just doesnt have it mentally, are you a bad teacher because he can't pass the exam? It some point it ends with the student/player.

Bahahaha. The Bears are clueless! First firing Lovie, then hiring CAVANAUGH? He has NO experience as a QB coach besides the Jets. The one protege he has is one of the worst QBs in the league, and his backups are worse. Cavanaugh was a failed assistant coach before coming to the Jets, and hasn't done a damn thing in this league noteworthy. Why would you want the QB Coach that "developed" Sanchez? Not exactly a good resume. That's like hiring the Cornerbacks coach from the Redskins or Bucs when you need to improve your defense, big time.
