How does one "force" the owner of the franchise to do anything he doesn't want to do? The is Woody's way of putting space between him and the Tebow debacle. Plausible deniability. "success has many fathers but failure is an orphan."

Hmmm who are these football people? I think Woody forgot that one of those people was him. Tanny/Rex/Woody, the three clowns brought in Tim Tebow. At least own up to it. Woody thinks we're all stupid.

Woody advocated for McElroy to start over Tebow late in the year. In fact, he never once said Tebow should start at QB. Yet you still think Woody wanted him here? As much as people want to blame Woody, he's done nothing but listen to his football people and shell out tons of cash to players. He's least to blame for the Jets struggles.

Why does it matter? At that point in the season everyone knew bringing in Tebow was a mistake.

I don't believe it either. I think Woody developed a woody for Tebow first, talked Mike T. into getting him and was forced on Rex.

I thought of a better word for Woody "Gutless". The Jags owner wanted him too but the GM and HC would have any of it. Woody wants him and our HC, GM, OC are happy to oblige.

    http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...ing-quarterback-job-sources-article-1.1049461

"He told Fox that he preferred to be traded to the Jets over the Jags, his hometown team. Tebow was turned off to the Jaguars because only new owner Shad Khan wanted him, sources told the Daily News. Jacksonville GM Gene Smith, new head coach Mike Mularkey and his top offensive assistants were adamantly against trading for Tebow. The Jags have the worst quarterback situation in the league with Blaine Gabbert, a bust as their No. 1 pick last year, and newly signed Chad Henne, but the coaches didn’t want Tebow.

The Jets were all-in on Tebow: owner Woody Johnson, Tannenbaum, Rex Ryan and offensive coordinator Tony Sparano all agreed to pursue him"

So Woody brings him in but doesn't think he should play QB? Then why did he bring him in?

I do not believe Woody at all. Tebow was his idea all along.

It was a mistake to bring him in. Why would he double down on that mistake and want Tebow starting over McElroy? Also, he would have gone against the majority of the fan base who were calling for McElroy to start. He probably wanted him to start the Tennessee game.

The truth is somewhere in the middle.

  20. MM maybe dark sider is the wrong word. The fact that you used the word "circus" is all I need to know. Media sheep is more like it. Keep reading your Gary Myers & Rich Cimini. The sky will be falling now till the end of time.

Call me crazy but I believe in my team & I want my owner to succeed. Self defeating attitude is just that..self defeating
