I love how nobody can win with Jets fans. Fresh new face, up-and-comer = Totally Unqualified, Inexperienced, Has no business here! Experienced, successful, winner = Somebody else's trash! MM isn't my first choice, either, but at least try to be happy, hopeful, excited....something positive. Smile and count to 10. ......Then get back on here and insult each other and argue some more. I'll be here doing the same.
So, half his skill set is gone? In his last 6 games, he went 1-5 and tossed 4 TDs and 2 ints.... Yeah that's the guy. Sanchez is that good on his worst of days. Especially when you factor in he will be getting rid of the ball sooner, rather than being asked To wait for wideouts to take cabs to the end of their routes. A guy, who happens to know much ore than I do, when commenting on Sanchez...has repeatedly pointed out that his completion percentage sucks, because he gets no gimmes...(Phil Simms).. And that's what MM brings to the table. Sanchez is about to become Pennington, with an arm.(or, for those actually paying attention, a younger version of Testaverde...) And FWIW anyone with half a brain, has been advocating for an OC that will get the ball out of marks hands quickly....not a great leap of logic...
Yup, he's a horrible choice I would sign up for this in a heartbeat. Be nice to see what he can do with McKnight and hopefully they will get him a few more playmakers. Hell, he may even find a role for Tebow if we keep him.
No matter what, he's in a no win situation. 2013 is gonna be a throw away season. The only thing we can hope for is that either Sanchez or whoever wins the QB competition winds up being better then we could have dreamed.
I think your dead on also...this hire is all about Sanchez. The jets have too much rapped up in his contract to just through him away. The sell was someone with a system that he could play half decent in. This should give nyjunc a really big woody:beer:
interesting hire. I'm somewhat excited. We're going to need an actual NFL quarterback to run his system effectively.
Its an interesting move by Ryan. MM's offenses were very productive...BUT....he also has been OC for some really poor decisions and lousy offenses (e.g. 2012 Eagles). Reid basically got all the credit for the Philly overall offensive success and productivity and MM was blamed for lack of productivity in the RZ. Looking forward, the goal of making the Jets at least an average NFL offense seems like a realistic objective. The offense can't get much worse than it was last season - and yet due to a good defense, the Jets were able to win 6 games. It should be interesting to see what happens next !
Disagree w/the 1st sentence, Agree w/the 2d sentence. Between Izdik and Rex and MM - it Should be fun to watch the off-season moves and the draft - I doubt the plan is to throw away the season. Get ready to throw the rock down the field.
Well the WCO for someone like Sanchez is a risk in my opinion.....why? Questionable footwork and poor accuracy with regard to the quick strike passes. However - it could be a boon for guys like Powell, McKnight, Kerley, and even hill - if they get the ball.
I hear you. I'm not advocating we keep him, just saying the MM might actually find a way to use him unlike the crap we saw this year.
"The good Marty" MoMa/MaMo or MartMort lol Top of the Morn Morntheloss but IMO: "Morningwood" is noice
