According to the Seattle website he went on the road for scouting trips, did player evaluations, and is a huge reason for the Seahawks recent success.
Honestly..I'd like to put up a billboard with a counter on how many days this franchise has been held hostage by this search. It's taken too long and frankly I'm concerned. LET'S GET IT DONE AND MOVE ON.
So the media can start taking potshots again? One of the nice side effects of the 3 week search is that it has been a cooling off period for the media. They've mostly been waiting on the sidelines well aware that taking random potshots at the Jets is not productive.
Jake Steinberg @Steiny31 Breaking: Woody Johnson's private plane just landed in Everett, WA, approximately 30minutes from Seattle. #Idzik
So you think that the Jets are operating in such a fashion because of the media? I went from thinking they were screwing it up to actually believing they were doing their diligence. That's quite a turnaround for a dyed-in-the-wool darksider like me. But if they are operating based on media reaction, I have to take that all back and start ridiculing them again.
The idea that the Jets need a GM who is in the weeds on the personnel side is off-base in my opinion. What the Jets need is a GM who manages the personnel acquisition process well and has enough experience with the game to be able to break ties well. I like the idea that the Jets are taking a balanced approach at the GM position. I like the idea that they're likely to hire somebody who stays above the situation and helps regulate it. If he can pick a winner now and then that's a bonus but his job is to oversee the personnel process and improve the product on the field.
No, it's a side effect as I said above. That it also deflects the hailstorm of media criticism is just a nice bonus.
Sounds like an abduction plot. He'll wake up confused, in Florham Park, seated at his new office with his name already inscribed on the glass door.
Ends justify the means. As long as they get it right, it makes no difference if it takes a week, two or three.
At this point, I'm just hopeful the Jets get the best General Manager they Khan, the last two years of losing has made me Idzik to my stomach
It's been reported everywhere by everybody about Izdik getting an offer today, the ny post,Shefter,ESPn and down on the list
It's gonna be like that Twilight Zone episode when that dude landed on another planet and was tricked by aliens to become an exhibit for the other aliens. He'll be locked in there for at least the next five years.
This shit is getting old already. They know it's Idzik. Just make it official so we can start focusing on personnel and draft matters.
This is what's going down right now: a little scotch, contract papers, and some lunchtime hooker action to consummate the deal. The broads walk in and are immediately told to "suck Izdik" and "hop on that Johnson". Good times.
