Almost every mock I have read from the second part of the season on has us taking Mingo. Idk peoples infatuation with him. He's a very raw talent to take at #9.

He says this pick isn't a good fit but Jets will choose him anyway. Then he criticizes Jets for making a bad selection because it's overkill in an area they've already got talent. WTF?!! Jets are even criticized on imaginary picks other people are pulling out of thin air.

Barkevious Mingo is a last regime pick: great measurables but not great production. Kiper would have been on if the same rules applied. I have the feeling they won't though.

12 - Cordarrelle Patterson (WR, Tennessee) Miami Dolphins

    Would be a fantastic pick...

    On the plus side

I would be happy with every single player taken before the Jets pick @ 9 except Milliner.

So if just ONE of them fell to us, we got some terrific value.

And considering how wacky the draft is, its definitely possible one of those guys falls to us.

Not to mention its January, so im SURE somewhere, somehow, a name will shoot up into those top 8 picks out of nowhere. Off of an incredible combine performance workout interview or something. Plus they are mostly defensive names, so you never know if a QB or WR shoots up into the top 8

I think the Jets are in a perfect position to land elite talent (albeit without so much of a choice, rather getting whoever is left over). Or the perfect position to trade down to another team desperate to land the last of the elite talent.

Impossible to speculate on the jets pick until they have a gm and a new head scout. This is all just filler so they can get their paychecks.

Not to mention RB as Greene is all but gone being a free agent.

    Not really...
    .
Picks are usually based on what you need, who is available when you pick, and system.

And we have a head coach, so we know what type of defense we will be running.

Our offense is a little less known since we have no OC or QB, but we still have huge needs @ LG/RG/OT

If the draft shaked out this way I have a feeling they swing at Geno. Im not saying I agree but after seeing Mark last year on film the new GM may be feeling pressure to upgrade the qb position.IMO

We NEED an entire new team. Old players that are overpaid and ready to retire, young players that mainly suck and a few intermediate players that should retire or suck.

Mingo is Gholston 2.0, we best avoid him at all costs.

He's a LB, can people please stop confusing DE with LB on this board, he would play LB in this system and that is our biggest need on defense.

Its actually better when they do. Its a clear sign that they have no idea what the hell they are talking about.

Either way, don't trust Mingo enough to take him at 9. If his workouts are off the charts, maybe. Curious if the pass rusher choice at 9 becomes Mingo or Ansah.

I thought Kiper was a little better than this. No way we pass on Geno Smith at #9 let alone the whole entire league pass on a qb in the first. They may not grade out as high this year but we should expect at least two to go in the first this year I think it's ignorant to leave Geno Smith out of his fist round mock draft

I listen to his radio show Sat. mornings and he doesn't speak too highly of Smith..... or any QBs coming out for that matter.
