As I said last week, I heard a rumor that Jets are after Gamble. So it wouldn't be a total shock if they hired Gamble.

YES. Those are two much [seemingly] better candidates.

Hell yes if this is true!!!!

    Manish Mehta

It appears Jets will go with external candidate to be new GM (Khan & Idzik have had 2nd interviews). I'm hearing Scott Cohen is on periphery

Actually the best news of all may be that the media doesn't have a clue as to what's going on, aside from the leak that the Jets want to come to a decision by tomorrow.

It means that the search is actually ...gulp.... private and confidential.

I think we found our leak. Why is it that EVERYONE else is saying Idzik and Khan, but he's the only one who says Gamble and Sundquist. My guess is that Woody Johnson had an inkling as to who the leak was the first time when Gamble was a done deal, and chose to leak that same faulty info again.

My guess is that Bassett won't be having any more inside sources.

If its Khan and Rex has a bad year the New York Post will print back Rex to face Wrath of Khan.

We will only know if that is true when they name a GM.

I believe Manish more than Bassett, to be honest.

Bassett was the same guy who told us Gamble was a done deal a week ago. Woody is finding out who leaked that nonsense. Dollars to donuts that person will NOT be in our organization next week.

There's another person who told this blogger that Gamble was a done deal for the New York Jets. All of a sudden, a week later, he's saying it again...?

This isn't Pettine, it's someone within management.

This whole gm thing is like waiting for the jets to select their first round pick in the 80's........

U were anxious and hopeful but deep down u knew they were going to screw the pooch and produce another draft blunder.

Maybe we'll have the jet gm blunder on utube soon.

Wait, gamble is still in this thing?

Nothing ever said he was out of it, nor was there anything saying he was still in it.

The Media & Tweets know nothing. They are not involved at all with the decision making process and they don't even know all the candidates that have been interviewed nor are they in any way aware of the specific assessment process that the Jets have been following, nor does the media / beat reporters have the slightest clue as to what Jed Hughes and Woody Johnson timetable or priorities are. ALL OF THIS IS 100% INTENTIONAL. The media have been totally shut out of the process and have zero information. In other words - this assessment and search process is being handled professionally and privately.

Here's something else - Woody and Jed Hughes have 110% better information about who will be the Jets best new GM candidate than you do.
