Laughed my ass off because I was thinking the same thing. Figured he'd come up with another excuse in a desperate attempt to save himself from being cut.

What did he say that wasn't true? From following Rex on vacation to the fact that this team didn't have any talent. I don't see him throwing anybody under the bus, juts sticking up for Rex.

fans whine all season that we lack talent.

the media attempts to portray the Jets as a dysfunctional team and organization.

Bart Scott asserts the team isn't divided, just not very good.

idiot Jet fans are offended by his stating the truth as if they have been personally attacked and criticize him for doing so.

yeah, that about sums up the problem with the perception of the Jets -- fan idiocy and dishonest media.

now you know i am usually the first person to get on a guy for talking too much but i have no issue with what he said.

this is one of those that i think people will over react to. or maybe i have read so much horrible shit in the past 2 years that things that used to bother me no longer do.

When Bart said the Jets lack talent, he was clearly referring to the offense!

What about the fans? We had to suffer watching an untalented team limp along all season long.

New York likes drama, thats why. What he said was true, and for the people calling out Bart Scott, the guy played with a broken toe all season. Yes we should have had the talent to replace him, but the guy gave the 100% effort that he had, and I have to respect that.

No shit, Bart. Thanks for telling us stuff we already knew. He was also part of the problem. He was way too slow and he needs to be gone.

 at people being so hard on Bart Scott. How quickly they forget how key he has been for us on defense... a very good defense that isn't the least of our problems. Even with slow linebackers, our defense is still better than most in the league. The talent issue clearly isn't with defense. We have 2 all pro corners, one of which is one of the best of all time, a pro bowl safety, a should be pro bowl DE in Wilkerson. If we even had a smidgeon of talent on offense, the "slow linebacker" thing wouldn't even be mentioned. Bart Scott and the defense is the LEAST of our worries. Having quicker linebackers wouldn't have made the slightest bit of difference in the way this season went. Defense can't do everything. I'd resign Scott, Pace and Thomas in a heartbeat and play another year with them if it meant the offense would be able to spend more money on talent and actually DO something.

I LOVE what Bart Scott brings to the team in terms of attitude, toughness, brashness, playing with a chip on your shoulder, aggressiveness, trash talking, swagger, etc. I think we actually need MORE guys like that to get back to the 09-10 Jets who opponents hated to play.

The Jets used to be what the Ravens are when Rex first came here. Brash, aggressive, in your face, physical, wanting to brawl.

Unfortunately, Bart simply can't play any more and when you can't play, your swagger/aggressiveness/trash talking is not effective. People just look at you and laugh, like many people did this year at the Jets.

I think this loss of swagger/brashness is a big factor along with the obvious overall decline in talent. From Rex scaling it back and throwing bouquets at BB and Brady rather than saying "I'm not here to kiss his rings" and losing in your face type of players like Shaun Ellis, Kris Jenkins, Drew Coleman, James Ihedigbo, Faneca, Trevor Pryce, Braylon Edwards, etc.

That's one of the things I miss the most about this team. Especially since we have a whiny, wimpy, mopey bitch of QB in Mark Sanchez.

I hate when fans throw that "Best Talent Ever" in Rex's face... Come on....

The REAL issue is that his other 3 NYJ teams weren't Uber talented either - it's not a huge stretch...

If you're a HC - your goal is the Super Bowl - Even last year - and you look at that team and assume KELLER, HOLMES and S HILL and KERLEY will equal whatever WR core you had any other year - You assume Your FOURTH year QB will be FOUR years better than he was as a rookie... And you believe Revis will lead your defense to be as good as it's been....

If you don't believe that then just go home.....

Freaking hate anyone who thows that shit in Rex's face....

When I look at the NFL - you have a handful of elite teams and then a shitload of teams who IF HEALTHY and IF the schedule works out, can make a run... The Jets in 09 an 10 were healthy and the schedule worked out well...

This year they had a New OC again and had to learn a Sparano system while facing a Murderers Row of a schedule to start out and THEN injuries - It all collapsed....

TO ME THAT WAS GREAT!!!!!! WHY - Because it opened up Woody's eyes that CHANGE was needed... And To me - HERE WE ARE - RIGHT WHERE I HOPED TO BE....

I was screaming lack of talent for 3 years!!!!! That doesn't mean Rex shouln't believe the talent is that far from his other Jets teams....I said early on - FIRE TANNY and to me it = the PLAYOFFS - yup PLAYOFFS - I sit here today and I wait for my New GM like it's Christmas - it's MY Championship game - I'm, excited as a fan and I understand why Rex said what he said - what he HAD TO say!!!!

Move on!!!!! TANNY is fired - the witch is Dead.

TODAY IS A GREAT DAY - THE START OF A NEW JETS!!!
