Coming from the CFL I wonder how his contract negotiation skills are. He'd probably offer Revis $300 a game plus lunch vouchers!

Popp is a very exciting choice. Young, has had nothing but success as a GM in CFL. I know the CFL is nothing compared to the NFL, but the Als have been consistently among the best teams in the league since their return, so he has to be doing something right. The fact that he's constantly been able to find talent with a CFL budget is telling.

Which means he won't get the job.

Making the playoffs in the CFL isn't an achievement, but no team has had the consistent success of the Als. Since 2000 they've won the east 8 times, won the Grey Cup three times, appeared in the Grey Cup 8 times. Only BC has won the Cup as many times since then, and they haven't been as consistent.

Throughout history the Jets haven't had much success with anything from Canada. Making this guy GM will bea hard sell to the fans, media etc. Same goes for Cohen hiring a guy who was just like the last guy will make Jets fans heads explode.

The more I see the guys they are bringing in for the second round the more I like the idea of a new face.

It looks like the love fest betwenn Rex and Woody is as strong as ever and we will get another cap/contract guy for the GM spot, leaving Rex as the man to pick the players. Regarless of what Rex has said, he picked or approved every player and coach the Jets have gotten since he became HC. Yes Tebow and Sparano were approved by Rex and he even said so when they were first signed, even though he q

Looking at today's Newsday article it appears 4 candidates got second interviews yesterday and Popp wasn't one of them, but Cohen was. Sounds like Cohen is going to get the nod, and Rex will be calling the shots.

Maybe after 40+ years as a suffering Jets fan it's time to start rooting for the Giants instead. With this moron of an owner the Jets are never going anywhere.

Expect more of the same, my friends. Nothing is going to change around Florham Park.
It's going to be more of the same crap we've come to expect from our " brain trust".
No matter who gets the GM nod(Cohen), he's going to fall right in line behind the 2 bozos running the show.

If and when they make the announcement,,,,,," after a thorough search we have selected Scott Cohen as our new GM" ,,,expect a huge dose of I TOLD YOU SO from day 1 !

It is not so much that the jets need a new face outside of the organization , they new a new face with a vision and a plan ! Cohen would be more of the same ole same ole and in my eyes he is not part of a solution but has been part of the problem

Rex is not running the show. What the fuck is so hard about understanding that.

"Rex picks the coaches, the GM picks the players'. Do you all even bother to listen to the press conference, or do you just insist that Rex Ryan is some Illuminati New York Jets puppet master. Seriously.

If you want to root for the Giants, go right ahead. Don't come back on the bandwagon if we do well.

You don't have to worry about that they only come out to bash. They remain silent when the Jets are doing well.

This guy is a nothing more than the social media version of superfan ... I find it hard to believe he's going to be the one breaking anything. My guess is that he's basing that off of other reports of who the finalists are.

Seems like a good kid and all, just not a news source.
