I just rebought Soundgarden: Superunknown and Whitesnake: Here I Go Again, which is a compilation of Slide it In, Whitesnake (self titled album) and Slip of the Tongue. They were delivered over the weekend, and I listened to Searching With my Good Eye Closed, Outshined, Children of the Night and Spit It Out on the way home from work yesterday. There may have been tears of joy shed.
I'm several years late to this thread, have no idea how many other metalheads are also Jet fans, but this song has inexplicably been stuck in my head for a couple of days: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=XpaQLVNwBPo Ok, that didn't work....lol It is Anthrax - Finale, from State of Euphoria. A terrible album but one gem amongst the crap.
Great stuff. In a similar vein, here's a little Lightnin' Hopkins from the same era. Muddy was a Mississippi blues man who moved to Chicago and electrified his sound along with many of his peers; Lightnin stayed true to the Delta blues they all started from. The Crossroads indeed... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d49m6G9vOrI&feature=related
