They both are at around 8 mill for the year and have 2 years left. Sanchez would be reunited with Carroll as backup and each get a change of scenary. Why not try

Would be a great move but Seattle would never do it straight up. They'd be looking for more. Not to mention Carroll didn't exactly give Sanchez a vote of confidence when declaring for the draft.

The Seahawks are trying to get rid of Matt Flynn to save money. Trading for Sanchez would not solve that problem. It would only create a bigger one with a shittier backup QB.

I think it's an awesome idea. I just don't think it's gonna happen

Does Matt Flynn make 8 mil a year? Seems like way to much for a guy that started one year.

What do you know about Matt Flynn?
At least Sanchez has proven he can take you to a AFCCG, what has Flynn proven?

Flynn has proven that he is not a good option for a starter, considering Wilson started over him.

Something we all don't know that they do

Aside from the "lowering the cap" argument., why would the Seahawks trade a QB with potential for a shitty QB worth around the same price?

I don't see any motivation from the Seahawks point of view to rock the boat. They have nothing to gain by doing this.

Difference is Sanchez is guaranteed 8.25 million. Maybe Seattle does that if the Jets send along about 6 million that would count against the Jets cap. Not a good situation.

Or it shows Wilson is just that good and is no slight on Flynn. It goes both ways.

Yep. The Seahawks have zero motivation to do anything that might destabilize Russell Wilson at this point. Bringing in one of Coach Carroll's old QB's? About as destabilizing as it gets, even if the organization has no intent of using Sanchez as anything but a backup and says so right off the bat.

I do think there is incentive for Seattle to flip Flynn for some talent/draft picks due to his salary. You just can't justify paying a backup QB what he's currently making, especially with Wilson making a BARGAIN of 650k due to his rookie contract.

With that said in no way, shape, or form would Seattle want Sanchez back given a similar price tag.

I think there is more of a chance Tebow winds up there than Sanchez. Seattle wants someone with a similar skill set to Wilson.
