I love amare for coming here and embracing New York but I would 100% be behind trading him. I was only like 80% behind this earlier, watching how lost he is defensively still, blehh. If we lose this game, first 3 game losing streak of the season surprisingly.
Honestly why is Woodson playing amare down the stretch? It bumps melo to the 3 losing that mismatch for us and it makes is play 4-5 defensively. The problems of this team currently run much deeper than amare but he's just frustrating to watch. Just tread water the 3/5 weeks until Felton is back. Shumpert back should help.
Of course we scrap our way to a decent looking score with guess what melo at the 4 and amare not on the court
Can the Knicks please play a complete game from start to finish? I'm trying hard not to worry about this team. Steve Novak's post game comment about Nate Robinson doing the belt celebration was funny.
Hilarious. I guess the big plus in this game was the Knicks never got visibly frustrated with the refs to warrant an onslaught of techs. They didn't mix it up with the Bulls either even though Nate and the bench was going off. That's probably the big plus, they stayed calm and collected. Now they need to shift to this lineup more, Prig, White, Smith, Melo, Chandler Prig, Kidd, White/Cope/Novak, Melo, Chandler Prig, Smith, Novak, Amare, Chandler/Thomas Why we still start with 2 bigs and why Amare is playing with Melo and Chandler, I don't know still. I guess I wuld rather test it out in January 2nd place in the East rather than in April in the playoffs.
Losing streak snapped! Wooo. Now go to London to play Detroit on Thrusday. Hopefully Shump is back. I wasn't watching Amare much (flipping between football) but I think he played much better today. Good sign. Prig keeps on hitting open shots. Copeland on fire. Melo started slow, caught fire in the 2nd Q. Smith had a bad offensive game. Steve Novak wasn't on fire, but when we needed a 3, he got it. Shumpert returns Thursday would be great
FYI. Amare has been a vegan for 6 months now. Melo was on a fasting break, thus resulting in him being really tired during games. Apparently hes back to eating lol. Knicks cannot let up now, the Nets are finding their groove. We HAVE to find a way to move Amare asap. Move him and Novak together.
Carmelo Anthony announced after the fact that he's been starving himself for the past 15 days. Am I the only one who sees a serious problem with him doing something like that in the middle of the season?
weird weird weird, Jim Dolan apparently is spying on Carmelo: "Two audio technicians were stationed at two corners of the court - one a few feet just behind the Knicks bench, the other diagonally opposite - and they were holding those umbrella-shaped contraptions known as parabola microphones, which fed the audio into a DAT recorder on the truck on the loading dock. These guys had one directive from Dolan: Record every syllable Carmelo Anthony utters and absorbs while he's on the court and on the bench, the Madison Square Garden CEO ordered them, and send the tape directly to me." http://deadspin.com/5975753/james-dolan-spent-friday-night-spying-on-carmelo-anthony
No I don't. Playing basketball is his job. It is not against the law for him to fast while being employed. People have all sorts of reasons for fasting, so I am not about to question him for doing it.
Why both of them? And how and for what? We don't have the depth currently to send players off. He did it once when he was in Denver. He says he does it for spiritual reasons so whatever, it's his call.
Hahha. According to a link I read but couldn't find, when melo did this in Denver, he went on a huge hot streak folliwng ending the fast.
How? well that is the million dollar question. Only possibility I can think of is the Lakers, and hope they will bite the dust. Novak is useless for us, and will make the Amare deal more intriguing, especially for the Lakers who need the depth and can use a shooter BADLY.
