Just think though, with the success of the read option this season it might actually raise a little interest in Tebow. Or maybe the Jets will go all in on it and cut Mcelroy draft a read option QB and run with him and Tebow this coming season.
I tend to agree with you that Sanchez will be the starter, but it wouldn't surprise me much if what I said came to pass either.
If he does go to another team it needs to be one like SF, Wash., or Seattle where the coach is smart enough to not try forcing a square peg into a round hole.
Wait a minute, didn't you get the memo? That option crap doesn't work in the NFL. Those darn Seahawks and Niners are setting the NFL back "50 years" running those systems, they can't work in the NFL. Right? You can't win games running the option and throwing a sub-par completion %. That's what all the Tebow haters said all season long last year. Tell that to Kaepernick, who did just exactly that last night in impressive fashion to the Packers.
The option offense works fine with QBs that can run and pass POS bulked up and slowed down for his next stint as a phony WWE rasslin' superstar Timmy can't do either
Going to SF and working under Harbaugh would be good for him IMO even if he goes to be a backup. He would be a good backup behind Kaepernick and probably learn a lot from Harbaugh.
Actually, it's not happening because their starters aren't established enough. None of those teams can afford a Tebow controversy. The starters established enough to withstand it are NE, GB, Atl, Hou, Pitt, Bal, Den, SD, NYG, Det, NO.
just the jets? what in your delusional mind makes you thinkt hat some other team and its fans are going to welcome him and you nut jobs? at the end of the day all football fans are pretty much the same. Its not like every other fan on earth doesnt know all about teabag and his severe limitations.
Sure, when pigs fly. After all the drama with Tebow on this team, and word that they didn't even practice his plays.... you really think they have seen the light, are gonna draft more read-option guys and go all in with Tebow? Sure, there might be more interrest in Tebow... until they see him throw in person.
The square peg into a round hole is playing Tebow at QB. But as long as Tebow thinks he belongs at that position, his career will continue to slide down the bench. Switch to RB or something. He's big and strong enough. He has the running instincts. Sure, the spotlight isn't as great there as it is at QB, but he couldn't have liked the attention he got on the bench. The rest of the Jets didn't seem to care for it either. Time to swallow that pride and salvage that NFL career.... if that is indeed his priority. He might be thinking his calling is elsewhere.
Are you okay? Seems you have some reality injected into your view of Tebow's future. You are also correct that he'd be better off retiring than staying a jet. After what has transpired with him this last season, anyone who thinks any of that will change with another year of Tebow on the roster is kind of off their rocker. Personally, I believe he will be on an NFL roster this year. might be someone looking to capitalize on his popularity just as the jets appear to. Also, there is still a slim chance in hell that a team might think they know how to use him.
I think his best move is probably to retire and go work for ESPN covering college football. I don't say that with any disrespect intended. He'd be better off to grab the reins on his career and go do the thing that people actively want him to do. His football career depended on one of two things happening: either him developing the skills to play in a more standard offense or making the switch to TE/H-Back. The first just didn't happen for whatever reason and it's late for the second.
One of the knocks on Tebow and his career is that he really struggle to know the playbook. Not sure how he can be expected to be an NFL analyst, and even if he could, tebow doesn't strike me as the type that would take a job like that. My prediction is that he stars in a reality show dealing with building hospitals in Africa and stuff like that. You might think a prediction like that crazy, but that fits his personality more so that taking a job filled with guys like Shannon Sharpe, Terry Bradshaw, Dan Marino.... or even Trent Dilfer.
