or a lot of promotions. Guying leaving their organizations and moving up to higher roles with the Jets. They'll do it if their very ambitious and hope that it'll help them in the long run. Jets aren't offering stability, so cash & ambition are gonna be the motivators to their new hires.
I don't think anybody wants to get fired. Although it may not be their fault at all there is still a stigma associated with it and it makes getting your next job that much harder. Some portion of the blame falls on you even when the whole staff is let go. The money is nice but you aren't going to uproot your family to move someplace you may not last.
Agree with your points Just trying to list what I think will be a common theme amongst Jets coaching staff new hires. There's just no way you can join Rex staff this upcoming season if stability is a priority for you (and your family). Because the Jets don't offer stability, I don't see them convincing coaches from other organization to move laterally & take similar roles with this organization.
I also find it intriguing that Ryan hasn't replaced any of them yet..not a one, even Dennis Thurmond hasn't been named officially. He has either been told not to do so or has taken it upon himself not to. In either case it only gets worse as long as we don't have a GM.
It's already happening right now. Fans are defaulting on them. I'm surprised you haven't seen or read anything about it. And in regards to being sued that's the least of my worries. Woody Johnson is all about PR. As the lawyer in the article below mentions you better believe Woody and his team are going to think long and hard before going public with lawsuits and dealing with all the litigation and court costs. That will really start a sh*tstorm with this fanbase and the franchise's public image will take a huge hit in terms of marketing and ticket sales. In my case it's been much more than 50% for selling tix. I've sold plenty of tickets even since the ridiculous PSL came into effect and I've still gotten full price. Not everyone has been as lucky, it all depends on what type of buyers you have lined up. In regards to cancelling the PSL, I'm still looking at my options now. Here's an article from a few days ago...http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/jet_fans_agony_of_da_seat_WYQbF841gstG9ElHn4hfZN “My feeling is there’s going to be a lot of PSL owners who default,” said Bill Koy Jr., 41, a Morristown, NJ, lawyer whose family has owned season tickets since 1965, when the Jets first drafted Joe Namath. “As a lawyer, I’m really curious to see if the Jets would really take their fans to court because of the public-relations hit they’d receive and the costs of such litigation,” added Koy, who is not looking to default on his six mid-level PSLs. A team spokesman said the club wants to “work with fans” through various PSL “payment options” but declined to say whether it would take delinquent fans to court."
That's exactly what Woody's gonna be dealing with for the next 7 months when he sees thousands of people defaulting...a lot of shit.
Well, that's their fault. You don't buy PSL's if you aren't prepared to pay them up. Teams go through rough stretches...you would think that being a Jets fan, they would know that. No excuses, just pay up.
The funny thing is Woody hires a consultant to help himpick personnel and turn his team around, but hamstrings the guy by saying he wants to keep Rex. I am pretty sure the first recommendation Korn Ferry would make would be to can Rex.
^^The reason people don't want to pay up has nothing to do with a gesture of good faith. It has everything to do with the awful product on the field and the dereliction of ownership. Sometimes there are factors outside of the control of the buyers. See Subprime Housing Crisis for Reference. Regardless of the reasons, the shitstorm of fans telling Woody to fuck off has just begun and I'm all for it!
That's because it was nothing more than a PR move by Woody. He wanted to make it look like he was making an effort to appease the fans and ticketholders. Clearly he didn't need to waste his money with Korn Ferry.
Tebow acquisition aside, what exactly has Woody done that is such an affront to the fans? The team is suffering in large part because they went all in trying to make it to the Super Bowl and came up short. That's hardly a reason to be cursing the owner.
I believe you hit the nail on the head...all in! I believe this has been Rex's style. With the cap issue it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
favre, herm, fucking over of numerous solid but not superstar guys. see mawae, kendall etc. terry bradway still on the staff. santonio holmes. burress, mason. being more worried about splash than substance. forcing an oc onto a head coach, forcing him to keep him. forcing head coach onto a new gm. the circus atmosphere, inability of his organization to keep closed doors closed and not leak info. were in the entertainment business. and i wont even begin to get into the stadium or psls or any of the monetary fucking of his fanbase that woody johnson has done.
Well, they can start off on a good path by not trading away their fucking draft picks. This is the best way to find cheap and decent players that will also address the cap issue, so whatever picks they have, they better keep them. If they start looking at what the Patriots have been doing, then maybe they might just fix this crappy team.
why not make some jokes about the Costa Concordia where another thousand innocents lost their lives only a year ago.
