    NO NO NO!!!!

What if the pass is thrown to a receiver Revis is not covering and the CB and safety or two of the other 6-7 DBs on the field at the time make the same stupid mistake Carter and Moore made - one letting Jones run past him and the other playing that pass like a 5 year old trying to catch a fly ball for the first time.

Revis, or any top DB, being on the field but not near that play, does nothing to help. That pass was not thrown to Boldin or Smith. It was to the Ravens #3. Revis can only cover one player. If anything, the games yesterday proved that you don't tie the cap up in a handful of players, because you need quality depth.

I would trade Revis in a heartbeat if the Jets get a reasonable offer - say a 1 and 3 or 4. And never ever look back.

You win in today's NFL with QBs, OL, and pass rushers. CBs are not that important.

All Revis wants is everything he can get his hands on, which means he and I are a lot alike in many ways. So I don't fault him for his desire to wring the maximum compensation out of his brief and very dangerous window of opportunity as a professional gladiator.

Having gotten that out of the way, he's just not that valuable to the Jets. Read Westhoff's comments again, and focus on the part where he blames the poor performance of all three units on the fact that too much of the cap is concentrated on too few players.

Revis is commanding the kind of compensation that needs to be reserved for elite quarterbacks and pass rushers, who are the most valuable commodities out there. Neither of which the Jets will have the cap room to acquire should they become available.

If we can get some picks and cap relief out of trading the guy, to me its really a no brainer. This team is going nowhere the way its currently constituted.

Still doesn't change the fact we had a winner on the team at QB and didn't play him. Also, Tebow beat a AFC North opponent similiar to Baltimore, and Peyton didn't.

fact is Tebow did better for Denver than Peyton. Peyton is a warm weather QB. That is why Denver lost.

Tebow would have helped our team this past season, but Rex prevented that.

last 2 times we were a wild card team we went to the AFCCG and were close to winning both games, all we gotta do is get in, anything can happen

stop being so negative and prisoner of the moment

I'm not continuing this ridiculous argument again. Tebow may not ever play in the NFL again and last season was a fluke.

Tebow had to sneak in as the number 3 or 4 seed. Peyton was able to easily get the number one seed.

They both lost in the same round of the playoffs. Except, Tebow got absolutely demolished by the Patriots while the Broncos were in a shootout with the Ravens.

Tebow would not have helped because we have a mouthbreather for an OC who couldn't even run plays in time.

So you're perfectly fine with letting the guy walk and getting nothing for him but trading him and getting something would be out of the question. Because he's elite? Makes sense.

This thread is ridiculous. If anything yesterdays game proved you have to have a legit passing attack in today's NFL.

Moore blew the game for them in regulation but Peyton sure had his chances in OT and basically ended Denver's chances with his INT which was a really bad one.

again no one will trade for him coming off of ACL surgery and by the time he proves healthy we'll likely be in playoff contention so a trade is out of the question or dont you get that part, if he signs elsewhere we get the 3rd Round pick and go from there but trading Revis is like giving up on the up coming season especially playing the good to Elite offenses we got next year

    New Orleans
    Atlanta
    Carolina
    Pittsburgh
    Baltimore
    Cincinnati
    New England x 2
Miami should be better on Offense with all their picks and cap space
Buffalo is always a challenge and might be better
Tennessee who knows if Britt stays healthy enough to be effective
Cleveland is almost a sure thing to improve next year

Tampa Bay and Oakland aren't really threats to us

thats a tough schedule and we need Revis to beat all of those teams

yeah he messed up but them allowing 2 touchdowns with under a minute left in both halves didn't help either, defense blew that game along with a bad PI on Bailey

Everyone keeps saying draft a pass rusher? Dont you think its aout time we start building our OFFENSE? I wouldnt mind moving Revis if it meant we can keep Landry and get some draft picks tostart building this offense.

no one is going to trade draft picks for a guy coming off ACL surgery in the last year of his contract who can not be tagged and will cost them at least 2 1sts, just stop

we can trade back and pick up extra picks, draft a pass rusher, a running back, a tight end, O-line help, a WR, a safety, a fullback and a kicker

all possible but guys just aren't thinking straight

A team who needs a corner to win a play-off game may. Denver signed a guy who was much more of a question mark than Revis is.
We cheap out on every player we have signed, there's no reason to think we will give Revis what he'll be asking for. Trade him while there is some value.

Peyton threw 2 pics, the last one cost the game. Peyton is a great QB in the regular season, but comes up short in the playoffs when it is outdoors and cold.

If you are in your 50s now U will be retiring & be on Social Security (if it still exists when U R ready to cash in) when the NYJs again MAYBE contenders for the SB. I have said from the time the 2012 season ended that the min was 5 years but most likely would be 7/10 years so I have added nothing to my estimate since the 2012 ended
