Its all speculation on your part and anonymous reports...guess what? I have actual on the record reports from Westhoff and Devito that something that was not kosher went down. Not practicing any plays for the guy yet trying to make it happen on game day all the while letting everyone assume its all his fault when it does not go well....that is crap anyway you look at it.
...and what good will all that do. Will some GM pick up that article and say, "ya know, I think Tebow got screwed here, I think i'm gonna take a chance on him. I'm gonna build around this kid, because by golly, there is something special about the guy and he deserves a shot." So they didn't practice plays they ran with him. Bummer. Do you have a theory as to why? Was it just because they didn't like nice guys, or maybe they weren't all that impressed with what they saw in him and just plugged him into whatever hole he fit in at the time? Might all be speculation, but SOMETHING kept the jets from giving any real committment to Tebow. Cuz the Broncos didn't want him either. If you paid attention to commentary from Fox and Elway during that season, most praises didn't seem all that warm and fuzzy. they didn't even want him as a backup or special teams player. There isn't anything out there to refute that speculation either. For whatever reason, teams just don't seem to like Tim Tebow. They don't seem to be sold on the idea that he will bring them a lot of wins.
Who gives a shit anymore? In a few months Tebow will only be able to be found on highlight reels. So we all should agree with the Tebow fans and not with the 32 GM in the NFL.
1) you waited 9 minutes 2) there was much more important Westoff-related content to discuss in the Jets forum, his opinions about Tebow are least important/relevant/interesting/insightful it's all rehash at this point.
I believe he's in the NFL... and his position is QB.... hmmmm.... May not be for long... doesn't change the fact that currently he is an NFL QB. I must not be objective though. Stupid facts
So with you on this, that pick could have been used on OL or another need since we had already signed our backup QB Stanton
Is it? Brad Smith is more of a QB, and if you're applying the Jets D.C evidentiarily then I'd defer to his primary (or actual) role where he played the majority of his snaps this season while arguing that the Jets D.C is just as much smoke and mirrors as it is legitimate.
I have to admit one thing about u. As much as u love Tebow u was one of the few Tebow nuts on here that really thought Tebow chances of being a starter in the NFL was very slim. That I give u props for.
All I've ever claimed is that if he can get his completion rate up to 55% (about 1 additional completion per game) and given his other abilities, he could be a winning QB. I've also said, ad nauseum, that folks who doubt his ability to be a consistent 55% passer have a good case.
Then what will the facts say? Ex NFL QB/running back/punt protector. Pop culture phenominon might be there a bit longer.... hmmmm.... I've GOT IT!!! Reality TV star. You KNOW a TV network is ITCHING to give him a show.
They probably didn't practice it because it hurt Sanchez's feelings and damaged his psyche. Yet another example of the Jets coddling Sanchez.
Honestly, he should of said something when the Broncos were pursuing Peyton Manning. He should of put his foot down and said "I give this team the best chance to win". He could of put a lot of pressure on the Broncos and still be the starter there. I don't believe he can be a good QB, but when the inevitable Peyton choke comes (some reason I see the Broncos losing tomorrow), Tebow should say he could have won that game (or the Super Bowl) and the Broncos were dumb for signing Peyton. It will be hilarious!
