It is pretty obvious at this point that from the coaching staff's perspective there were only two roles that Tim Tebow was going to play last season: he was going to be a threat on the punt team and he was going to be a decoy in the offense.

That argues very strongly that neither Rex nor Sparano had a major role in bringing Tebow onboard.

I like what he said. Because that's how I also felt about the team - esp. the Tebow trade - I still don't why we traded for him.

It's nice to hear someone admit the failures, but was he saying any of this when it mattered? Did he get in Rex's face and ask these questions? It's not like he would have been fired.

The pistol favors fast decision making and a quick release. It does however have a bunch of one receiver reads in it so you could argue that both Sanchez and Tebow would have a better shot at the mental aspect of running it than of running a normal offense.

It's not about him being wrong. It's the fact that he never talked about HIS special teams sucking ass this year, nor did he say any of this when it was needed most.

He waits till he is gone to open his mouth

Westhoff was a brilliant special teams coach his entire career, and one off year with horrid talent doesn't change that. Every word he spoke is true. The man will always have my respect, one bad year notwithstanding.

Nothing wrong with what he said, as it was all true although I see he didn't go out of his way to take any of the blame for the poor special teams play this year..

I'll miss his honesty/personality, and his creativity on special teams..

Agreed. It seems like he was just talking about certain situations and why he thinks it didn't work. He's not throwing all the blame on the D. He even specifically said that. Anybody knows they were our biggest strength this year.

Look. You have a situation, where the cap is concentrated on select few guys at the top of the chain - 10 players or so pick up over 80M in Jets cap situation. (It will be 100+ this year.) The rest of 40+ players are picking up peanuts. Do you know what that means? These guys are either rookies or good-for-nothing free agents.

Now, from the 'garbages,' the better garbages get promoted due to injuries. ST is filled with the worst of the worst in other words. And you expect them to perform to a high standard? Why don't you go cook some chicken salad out of chicken shit? Go make one - then we will talk.

This has nothing to do with the media. He is just being honest. I watched the games too and he is right.

Does anyone else find it scary that we do not have

    1. A general manager
    2. An offensive coordinator
    3. A defensive coordinator

Realize we might have someone lined up for #3, but whats going on

Thurman is our DC. 1 and 2 are being worked out and will be resolved in the order you've posted them. They say Rex has control over OC however I'm questioning that. It seems the GM will have a big say in it or else we'd be interviewing candidates.

Looks like Korn Ferry is taking their time with this decision so as to lessen the chances that they'll mess up, which will most likely happen anyways.
