We should sign him. He could be a good RB and he's good returning the ball.

The Jets need offensive play makers, have cap problems - this guy has game breaking speed and needs a second chance.

    Make it happen Tanny.

Yeah. Rainey is fast, but he's not a good guy.

A lot about the UF incident gave him an opportunity to change/repent/whatever. (He clearly hasn't.) He's fast and a Roger Goodell meeting waiting to happen (unsure which is quicker).

I really don't care if he's a good guy or not. I think a one year deal could work out well for both parties. He gets one last chance to get his shit together and the Jets get a chance at a guy that can take it to the house on the cheap in a year where they're going to struggle to add any talent when it's sorely needed on offense.

things like this are the difference between the steelers and the jets.

santonio holmes acts a fool. steelers shed him... jets pick him up and then pay him enough that they cant get rid of him.

guys show they are more concerned with themselves and acting like a thug and they are shown the door in pitt, here they are given another chance and rot the locker room.

Good point. He's definitely not a long-term solution, and if the Jets get him I hope they don't treat him (and his role with ST) as such.

    this is it!
another reason why I don't like Ryan. Character people are a lot easier to coach, because they are typically, more cerebral. Ryan, because of his arrogance, thinks that he can charm a lifetime of hoodlum out of these players. I applaud the Steelers organization, although they should have not played favorites with the Raplisberger. But even Parcels had separate rules for different players.

Picking up a guy like this, however much it is frowned upon due to character issues, are the types of moves we should explore, given our cap situation.
Give him a deal with clauses that protect us against future problems and upgrade a position of desperate need with minimal $ outlay.

Meh, we have Joe Mcknight for returns, and don't need another 3rd string RB.
