Don't overlook the fact that he WON a Superbowl as offensive coordinator with the Steelers. He had a hand in Roethlisberger's development into an elite QB.
If Tim Tebow is the starting QB next year it will be a shit show. He is not and never will be a starting caliber QB in the NFL. His form is horrible, his accuracy is shit, his feel as a passer doesn't exist. The only way he completes a ball is if a team plays a cover 0 and he can beat someone on a deep ball with no safety back to account for. Teams know this now and will just set up their D to either make him throw into cover - which he can't - or scramble with a LB spy. It would be a disaster of epic proportions and cost rex his job in a heartbeat, along with the rest of the staff.
Jets don't have any good QB choices on their current roster, draft doesn't have quality QB talent, & Jets don't have salary cap space. No matter who starts next season @ QB, there's gonna be low expectations. No point in complaining about any of the QB really. These arguments are basically a debate on which pig do we wanna put lipstick on?
Me neither personally I doubt he'd ever start here but the option is one of the only ones. Try and turn him into a good QB, his biggest issue is fixable we just need to commit
okay but the team needs to address that and coach him up -work on his release, 24/7, his accuracy isn't bad he just gets the ball out too slow -footwork needs work -put together a scheme that fits his strengths -commit to him as the starting QB by the bye week we'll have a clear view of if he's the man and honestly he can do some damage.
Bring in Hue Jackson as the OC and then pick up Jason Campbell who has done ok as a game manager with Hue before. Draft a leading RB from the draft to take most of the load with Powell. Then after this year, pick up a QB from a significantly better class (Bridgewater, Manziel, Boyd).
"There are some situations where I need to call the plays better. There are some great plays and some great throws and then there were some not so good things."
I highly doubt it will be anyone we can get excited about. Anybody established and can have a choice of jobs will not choose to come here.
thats actually not a bad idea. except rex chooses the coaches and i think he would see where that hire would lead
I guess we will have to wait until the GM is selected before the coaching jobs are filled...or are they independent milestones?. Would not seem right to me not to at least get a strong input from the new GM. After all, he already inherited Rex, he should be given the courtesy for the rest of the selections. He should at least be part to the HC in the waiting selection in case Rex blows it.
Mike Mularkey just got fired the Jets should bring him in for an interview for OC he is just like Norv Turner better as OC than as a head coach.
IF the new GM is more than just a GM in name only, you might be right. Otherwise, ask Rex Ryan. The REAL GM of the NY Jests.
LOLOL yeah, that's right. Rex is Woody's puppetmaster. We might as well not even have a GM with Rex around. Any other conspiracy theories you want to share?
Let see.. Oswald wasn't the only shooter. Roswell was real and the Moon landings were faked. The CIA did experiments on America citizens using LSD. Rex Ryan is the defacto GM of the NY Jests and has this weird foot fetish. I could go on if you'd like..
Well, the least likely conspiracy is the moon landing as well as the Rex Ryan thing. You heard it straight from Woody's mouth 'Rex picks the coaches, the GM picks the players'. What more do you want? Armed security that prevents Rex from even mentioning a player he's interested in to the GM?
