Earl Clark also was an addition, really, because he normally doesn't play. So they replaced Gasol/Howard/Hill with Sacre/Clark/Jamison. Rockets coasted to an easy win in the second half with a big third quarter run. It's going to get ugly. Lakers probably won't even be top 10 in the West. edit: Phoenix/Milwaukee game featured a ball sitting on the back rim and not moving. Talk about a soft touch. First time I've ever seen a ball just rest on the rim.
Rumor of the day: Kings sold to Seattle https://twitter.com/TheHungryFan/status/288743131694911489 (Daughter of NBA agent David Falk)
Lakers drafted big man Ater Majok last year. He's playing overseas but I guess the Lakers own the rights to him? He's a guy that should be playing in LA. What's the point of drafting guys if you're not even going to use them when you run out of NBA players?
If you draft someone overseas, is it like the guy the Knicks drafted (and eventually traded) and Rubio where the player stays there until they either get their contract bought out or it runs out? That might be the hold up. But tonight the Spurs get the Lakers on the second night of a back to back. Should be fun.
Hey Abyz, http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports....mits-he-pushed-stephen-jackson-before-injury/ "“He didn’t fall on her,” Bloomberg revealed yesterday during a press conference in The Bronx dealing with schools. “He came close and I just pushed him a little bit.”" We found our true suspect for Stephen's injury. It wasn't Amare, the mayor was getting involved! hmy:
watching ESPN, they're saying the fans need to be patient with the Lakers, it takes time for the players to jell. And they're talking about Gasol and Howard as if they're playing. Gasol and Howard are going to be out for weeks it sounds like. They're not in the discussion. They can't jell with anybody.
yeah I mean the fans aren't accustomed to this for a while. They were told they could go 72-10 and now they might not get to .500
I think the "be patient, given them a chance" line was good in November. Not now, when the team is 10th or 11th and without all their big men (and they're out indefinitely, so it's not "let's just get through a game or two).
Earl Clark was 2/10 for three in his 3 and change seasons in the NBA. He nailed a three to cut it to a three point game against the Spurs Career game for him. Clark was averaging 3 points and 2 rebounds per game in his career (obviously coming off the bench). 22 and 13 tonight. Parker threw it away after the Clark three, and the Lakers had two long threes to try and force OT, but they missed them both. 108-105 final. Stephen Jackson was being a jackass, which is not unusual for him. He got T'd up twice, giving the Lakers two points.
Jackson had to be aware that the refs already gave out 3 techs to Lakers, got to control your emotions there
Jackson has been surprisingly well behaved since he's been back with the Spurs, but I'm not surprised he got T'd out against the Lakers. The refs obviously had team orders to keep LA in the game for their boss, David Stern.
David Stern should fine himself since a "star" in Melo isn't playing on TNT tonight. I don't think he hates the Spurs, he hates the fact Pop will always find a way to stick it to him which is great
I think he likes the Spurs since the league must've helped them get Duncan and Robinson, two of the most desired college players ever. If he hated them you'd think he would've done something to stop them from winning four titles under his watch, since of course the whole league is rigged and all.
Hmm im just waiting for the playoffs now. Idk how far the Spurs can go, West seems open again. Im not going to write off the Lakers either, they will end up the 8 seed or 7 but will be very dangerous.
