Rex and Woody didn't want to answer why he was still around.

You honestly believe they fired him just for something to talk about in the press conference? I mean, really?

Sporano, Tannebum, Cavanaugh, Strenghth & Conditioning coach - all solid moves. Kind of hope Pettine goes, Thurman can replace him and let the new GM have control of the offensive hiring.

For about the fifth time in 2 days I've seen why this fanbase gets the reputation it gets. Isn't it absurd that someone thought that was an actual answer to why they waited til today?

    Interesting theory, but unsubstantiated.

    Firing was deserved.

Even still, the Jets need to do something about talent on offense. The best offensive coordinator in the NFL would fail with this group of schmucks.

    Jimmy Sexton clients

    Bill Parcells

    Rex Ryan

    Tony Sparano

    Tim Tebow

You don't think Sexton spoke to Rex about Sparano and they spoke to those guys about Tebow?

I don't really think it would take a new GM to figure out what's been obvious for some time, and that's that Cavenaugh & Sparano needed to be replaced.
I really couldn't see anyone coming in here thinking it would be a good move to keep heading in the same direction.

Timing will help to quite the questions about Rex's tattoo.

There will be 4000 questions about Tim Tebow today.

One person posts a question and you want to hang the whole fanbase? Really?

And what reputation are you talking about? Got any links?

We have to acknowledge the point made by others that normally an HC should and would have input on hiring the OC. The only problem with that is Ryan has a crap record of choosing an OC.

Many here complained that Schotty was around too long. Well, when Rex got to make his own move on the OC, he shat the bed.

To avoid getting fired Sparano hid in the mens rooom, third stall, for 8 days. It worked until Pettine ratted him out to Manish.

Hopefully the new GM will have a BIG impact on setting up the offensive staff, given the fact that he will be a football guy, and put the right coaches in place to develope Sanchez or a rookie going forward.
We not only need an OC, we need a HC in charge of offense, which is obviously why Turner would be perfect.

It's not one post, it's the fact that someone actually agreed with said stupid post. And it's not just this thread. Check out the Tom Gamble thread. I mean really just look at pretty much any thread that's over three pages long. It's probably over three pages long because there was some sort of terrible attempt to make a point and people called the poster out on it.

And if you need any links for proof that this Fanbase is one of the worst regarded in the NFL then you are in some serious denial.

Rex Ryan's favorite joke is ... "how do you keep an asshole in suspense?"

Tony Sparano still doesn't get it.

Good thing they got rid of him. Now all we need is Norv Turner as the OC and a GM that will provide the talent on the offensive side of the ball. I'm pretty pleased with the actions taken by Woody since the season ended. Seems like he is making the appropriate changes needed to help this team improve.
