Players have off games, it's simply normal, even for great ones.

I just hate when people are ignorant enough to say he doesn't have what it takes or doesn't deserve his awards.

Fine Ill take Lacy and Warmack, btw Manti is a hell of a player, people just blame T'eo because they think the defense as a whole is T'eo and its not, they are idiots

yea no doubt. in my eyes manti should of won the hesiman, i flipped a shit when he didn't. im just saying it worries me how he is missing tackles against talent he will most likely go up against in the nfl

this game hasnt changed my opinion of manti at all, it just raises some eyebrows

The entire team didn't play their game today, not just Te'o. Nix and the Front 7 just got rocked by a great Bama O-Line and your MLB ain't gonna do shit if the front line isn't getting the job done.

yeah I agree but Te'O missed a few tackles in the backfield that lead to long drives and scores. But ND just wasn't ready at all, they looked scared

Hopefully this "off" game leads to him maybe being there at pick 9....I'd take him and then some.

You take Ngata off of Ray Lewis in his later years, ain't nothing Ray Ray is gonna do. The MLB feeds off what the frontline does, is a RB gets by them and is carrying a full head of stream running not many LB are gonna stop them.

Would you really draft Te'O with us having Harris and Davis or would you look to move Harris if drafting Te'O and go with Te'O and Davis for the future

Te'o was facing a team that had a lot of time to prepare, with the best coach in college football in terms of preparation. It's not anyone on notre dame's fault. They got beat down by a better, more prepared team.

I can see D. Davis as an OLB if he fixes his offseason routine to add some sideline speed to his legs.

Harris is probably gone after next year anyhow....not the end of the world if D. Davis isn't a fulltime starter.

Davis is 235 though, he cant play OLB in a 3-4 and was drafted to replace Scott. I just dont see us drafting Te'O

Te'o is still a great player. it's a learning experience. I would still take him at 9 overall.

I think Kevin Minter might be there at pick #39, and frankly, I think he is WAY better value there than Te'o at #9.

Te'o is a stud. I don't think I'd take him at 9, but that's mostly because I think the Jets have too many other needs to use the 9th pick overall to draft an inside linebacker. If somehow the Jets traded back a few spots and then grabbed Te'o, I'd be fine with it.

I love the guy, I would love him to be a Jet. He'd be a great leader and a good player. I just have a hard time visualizing the Jets spending such a high pick on an ILB. I'd rather go with an offensive lineman if we're going with a non-sexy position.

Yeah Im right with you... Te'O would be welcomed as a Jet, but it just scares me off a little bit spending such a premium pick on a position that the Jets done really need. Dont get me wrong, it would definitely be an upgrade, but we need to upgrade so many other places that I dont know if its worth it.

I would not be upset if he was a Jet, I would actually be happy. He just wouldnt be my ideal pick. Its kind of sad that we have so many holes that its hard to think of taking a great talent like him.

And the Jets very well may need an inside linebacker, depending what the staff/new FO thinks of Demario Davis. But I think it's more likely a veteran steps into that position, maybe Bart comes back cheap for another year to ease Davis in.

Offense is the main priority in some way, shape or form. Defense, pass rusher or bust. ILB and safety are needs, but I think there will be enough quality guys available that I'd rather address a more pressing need.

An elite ILB in a 3-4 can shed an OL 1 on 1. When going up against elite NFL prospect OL, I didn't see that.

An elite MLB should have tremendous sideline to sideline speed. Didn't see that.

An elite OLB should have pass rush skills or speed to play man coverage. He shows no pass rush moves, and lacks the speed to cover modern TEs.

The missed tackles are one thing (time off, not accustomed to Bamas roided out RB size speed combo).

But I'm not seeing a player that resembles Ray Lewis or Patrick Willis in the slightest. I saw Ray shed blocks at 37 on real NFL linemen yesterday. This kid is not in that mans class.

Leadership? Soft spoken? We talking about Tebow here? Pass, pass, pass.

ILB's go as their interior line goes. Lewis has Ngata/Cody for example, Willis has Smith/Sopoaga, Wagner has Branch/Bryant etc...

Te'O got nothing from his front 3 and Brian Kelly was so scared of the run he had his safeties playing too far up and his corners weren't getting physical with receivers. Te'O missed tackles yes, could do much with Bama's line yes but put in our 3-4 with Wilkerson-Pouha/Ellis-Coples/DeVito and I think he plays better on Sunday's than we seen Monday

if anything this game showed me that at any level the best teams win the battle in the trenches

I agree with this. Not knocking T'eo in any way at all, but I'd rather have a top OL at #9.

Alabama's O-Line is better than most NFL lines, they're special.

Notre Dame's front seven never had a chance.

That being said, the Te'o haters and usually knee jerk reactions based on this game is insane. Te'o played poorly because the entire defense, including him were dominated by a much better team.

This doesn't take away from Teo's value or ability as an NFL prosopect. As I have been saying, I still expect Te'o to be a top 5 pick.
