    Caldwells job for the taking????

I'm told by a knowledgeable source that falcons player personnel director is likely to take Jags OR Jets GM job shortly. May have a choice -- Michael Silver (@MikeSilver)

    But...that can't be.

We're a CIRCUS. Nobody with a shred of credibility would want to come here.

Much rather have Gamble or Ross. I'm not sure the Falcons drafting has been all that great since he was running it and their only homerun you don't know if it was him or Les Snead (GM of the Rams) running the show.

    2008 - Massively Great
2009 - William Moore is decent. Otherwise crap.
    2010 - Bust
2011 - Paid a ton for a layup pick in Julio Jones. Jacquizz Rodgers is pretty good.
    2012 - Meh. Too early.

The Julio Jones trade up makes me nervous. The Jets need a solid drafter not a guy who needs to trade up to get what he wants. I know that was not Caldwell's move but it's not good that he comes from an organization that succeeded recently by trading up in the draft.

We need new thinking in the organization, not just people trying to do the old plan better.

Good year last year. Eh this year. Picks 2-6 in that draft have been downright bad (Corey Peters) or non-contributors.

Getting 1 potentially long term starter and a bunch of zero from the rest of a draft is pretty bad in my opinion.

they have only traded up julio jones. the falcons were already competitive in 2010, which allowed them to trade up to get julio jones. its not like they had a lot of holes to fill. so far i think its been a good trade, its made them one of the most fun offenses in the NFL to watch

Could also be his (Caldwell's) camp spreading this to get more money out the Jaguars.

Its been pretty clear that Gamble has been the Jets first choice, so try not to overreact and take it as a slight if/when Caldwell goes to the Jags

It would make me nervous if they traded for a questionable player but Julio is one of the best WRs in the league.

Tomorrow it'll be someone else as the front runner.
I'll just sit back and wait till its a done deal before I get too excited either way.

Ya he's a total joke. 4 playoff wins in 4 yrs with a bottom 5 NFL QB and no legit pass rusher.

Yeah, while I respect Bradway's reservations about hiring another guy with a record of trading picks, Atlanta completely ripped Cleveland off. Put it this way: if the Browns called back today and offered Phil Taylor, Greg Little, Brandon Weeden, and Owen Marecic for Julio Jones, the Falcons front office would probably die of laughter.

For what it's worth, I think the Jets also ripped Cleveland off when they traded up for Sanchez. Obviously the pick didn't pan out, but I still think that a first round pick, a second round pick, and spare parts to move into the top 5 was a major discount.

The Jets are 47-49 since they traded up for Darrelle Revis.

A trade up is a bad thing unless you are getting the QB who will take you to the Super Bowl.

What has he done lately? Sabotaged our season by keeping Mark in there.
