There U R changing the real TRUE facts again when U state we had success in the 80s when IN FACT we have been outright losers since 01/12/69
I think its funny people from within this fan base constantly criticize the fan base for being horrible fans". This is a multibillion dollar industry. The Jets are a multimillion dollar organization. The FANS collectively spend an enormous amount of money and energy in this organization, and for what? To lose? The Jets have been garbage for 40+ years. They have been a losing team for 40+ years. You don't get any medals for making it to a championship game. No one outside of the franchise and this fan base even give 2 craps they went to an x amount of championship games. I mean for god sake, the Eagles went to something like 5 championship games, but who cares? NO ONE. The writers job is to stir up controversy. After all, that is what sells. This is New York, the media capital of the world. Everything is a headline. Jets fans have a right to lash out at this organization. For everything, all the negative things that have happened over the years.
When the Mets started they were marketed by their Manager Casey Stengel as lovable losers. The problems for the Mets really started after the 69 season when they actually won a World Series. They could no longer sell tickets based on being a bad team.
Again, the Jets have brought all the negative attention on themselves, but it doesn't explain the underhand tactics of saving quotes and not easily identifying them as old and passing off old news as current news that has been used by the media.
Meh. That's not much compared to the real issues with this team and the people running it. I would just like to add that real fans of the Jets do not think the Jets have a terrible fanbase. I generally think the Jet fanbase is great. Knowledgeable fans who do not put up with crap past a certain point. Leave the fanbase alone. What else are the fans supposed to do? Suck up all the crap?
you could try and enjoy the circus the owner is pushing while the team tanks. I think he is very much trying to give the fan base some entertainment, while they try to figure out this running a football franchise thing.
not anywhere nearly that talented. I did the next best thing, I saved the Tshirt pic in an article written about a smart, clever, creative entrepreneur, and used it for my avatar. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/shirt-ing-rex-jets-wife-tattoo-t-article-1.1234661?localLinksEnabled=false
This^^^^ Having good and bad seasons is part of being a fan, however you expect the team you root for to carry itself and the way they operate with some dignity, respect, professionalism. When your owner allows your team to become a circus, that is not acceptable as a fan and the team should know how its fans feel. I would like to add that Woody is seeing what they are becoming and is making an effort to nip it in the bud before it gets any worse and I give him credit for trying.
I almost wonder if Woody is designing this to fail. Then he would have a reason to move the team to LA where he would get his own stadium and not have to compete with the Giants. Sort of a grassy knoll statement, but you never know.
No one cares about the Eagles NFC championship appearances because it was 10 years ago. And when people talk about Andy Reid and how good of a coach he is thats all they ever bring up , that and his losing Superbowl appearance . So ur wrong it does matter Coaches are judged by what they do in the playoffs
