I watched most of the Cowboys' games this season and last season and I say NO to Rob Ryan. He has historically produced mediocre defenses with superior talent and this year is no different. His schemes stink and they hardly resemble anything that Rex does on defense.

I guess it's a twin thing with Rex wanting his brother at DC, but it's a bad fit, IMO.

This is a real possibility IMHO cause it would give Woody the headlines he craves

I'm not in favor of hiring relatives as part of the coaching staff. It wouldn't be the worst case of nepotism ever, since Rob Ryan at least has DC experience. But it means that if things didn't work out, it would be really awkward to try and get rid of him.

I'd like a very snoozy 13-3. What worries me is that the Jets just want to get back to acceptable with an occasional season at 11-5 or 10-6 to prove it.

Not that this is here or there but the Jets of the last decade remind me of the girl who is half-pretty and half-dressed to prove it.

Jack, I'm with ya on this one 100% 2 Ryans would be more than I could handle and the media here would simply gizz all over themselves with the nonsense that would surely come.

One Ryan is quite enough and damn near too much. Two Ryans would destroy whatever credibility this woebegone franchise has left.

    One buffone is enough.

Marvin Lewis won a Super Bowl as the Ravens DC. He has Mike Zimmer as his DC. Zimmer is a quality coach. Lewis allows Zimmer to run the defense. Gruden's little brother is the OC. The Bengals looked like garbage on Saturday but they had a good year.

Cowboys are parting ways with defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. A big change they alluded to!

I know we're going w/Thurman, just posting the news here.

Well, since Rex is calling the shots now (I say with only a slight twinge of sarcasm) it wouldn't surprise me if he came here.

Maybe he could shave, get a haircut and dress up like Rex. That would be funny. (Groan)

    LOLOLOLOL

the thought of Rob Ryan coming here makes me laugh. Several posters on here would spontaneously combust if Rob Ryan came here. The media might literally explode. Servers would be down for days.

That being said, I wouldn't mind. However, it would sort of reek of nepotism.

Armand, please think about the fans who have supported this team since the 70's and 80's. I know you're new, but at least you can have some sympathy towards us. We don't have time to sit around and play games anymore. Point is, you're either building towards a Super Bowl or you're wasting time. Rob Ryan as DC is a waste of time. Rex Ryan too, but we're stuck with this buffoon for another 4 years. So that's another 8+ years of no chance at the Super Bowl. Ugh.
