Just curious how people see Ryan Nassib shaking out now that his college coach is head coach of the Bills. Any chance at all that Marrone takes Nassib on the 8?
What I find interesting and almost compelling about the Nassib to the Bills scenario is that Marrone has an NFL QB under contract to take the heat off of the organization to get Nassib on the field quickly. Marrone knows that Nassib can throw the ball in lake weather given that he has watched him up close at Syracuse for the last several years. He also has been out-spoken about the strides that Nassib took the last couple of years in developing as a QB. I think the odds are good that the Bills trade down and take Nassib somewhere in the late teens or twenties.
This was my first thought when I heard of the hiring... I would say there's a 50% chance Nassib is a Bill. No way he's lasting until the 3rd now. He's pretty much a 2nd round pick for the Bills if he's not taken earlier. I would not be happy if he ended up a Bill though..
I wonder if the Jets at 9 start talking near the draft about using the pick on Nassib to tempt the Bills to panic at 8.
Nassib will prob be a Bill. But the comments about him having experience with lake weather are completely incorrect. Not only to they play their home games in a dome, their practice facility on South Campus is inside too.
Well, I thought it was a sure thing that he would rise to late first, early second anyway. If the bills took him at eight, it wouldn't be a good value pick, but if they were able to take him in the second, I would consider it a steal. I think Marrone us definitely interested in taking Nassib, I hope the bills dont though.
Agreed, I didn't understand that comment. The only time Nassib is outdoors is walking to classes or to his car.
Playing well in the snow and rain just requires large hands. I know we've heard stories of teams hiring a fire truck to spray water at the QB during practice the week before a game that will prob be played in shit weather. they have methods of getting a QB acclimated. But Bradway is right. Nassib def experiences coldness in the -20s something a kid from Cali or down south has never done.
