TEAM Radio @TEAM1040 RT @renlavoierds: NHLPA executive board will begin the process to have players approval to disclaim if no agreement is concluded by today.
Fehr is not stupid, this is when he can get maximum concessions and he's going to scrape for every last spec until 90% of people think the season is dead at which point the owners say ok let's just drop the puck you fucking assholes
^Disagreed. The owners are willing to miss a year to get the deal they want. They already have, and all but ~5 teams in the league don't even make a profit which is what this whole thing is about.
Not according to leaks from league partners like NBC sports and various national advertisers. They were all told this would be a quick fix and they are extremely unhappy right now. There is no way the league can get away with wiping out this season with them and with the profitable owners who have played good soldier up until now. They will never allow the season to be cancelled after all this it would be suicide
Never say never. Its lookin like no hockey to me. Theyre moving backwards again. A week to go before season is canceled.
Johnny thinks it's over, we must still have hope. By the way do you have a tattoo of Dubi on your arm?
It'll be a game of chicken right to the bitter end. I'll say this, though I don't believe the season will be lost, if they do blow it up they are going to be in a world of hurt once hockey comes back. The fact that after losing an entire season last time the only outlet willing to strike a deal with the NHL for a television contract was the Outdoor Living Network in between hunting and fishing shows should be a pretty good indication.
That's 2 thus far Shooter. Oh you can count. And you can count on me waiting for you in the parking lot.
Not sure who said it'd be a quick fix. We get daily coverage of this BS up here and there is never anything positive say other than "they're talking", which is usually followed a day later by "they hit a snag". I really don't think the owners give a fuck if they cancel this season to get the deal they want. Majority of teams are losing money in this league anyway, and we've already seen them lose an entire year recently.
Comcast has actually done a good job building up that network, not the least of which linking it up with NBC. It'd be embarassing just as they're getting the EPL and F1 racing and becoming a viable option for other sports for the NHL to be kicked out because of these labor civil wars.
It's 430 am here, I'm hammered, turn on the TV and I see Don Fehr and Gary Bettman standing side by side announcing its done. Will wake up in 8 hours to confirm its true. GO OILERS!!
