NE with Welker, Gronk, Hernandez is always a challenge
Ten with Britt, Nate Washington and Kendall Wright isnt easy
Houston wth AJ and Owen Daniels
Indi with Reggie Wayne, Ty Hilton and Donnie Avery
Pit with Wallace, Brown and Sanders
Arizona with Fitz, Andre Roberts and Michael Floyd

I mean we didnt play the Packers or Falcons, but those receiving corps are no slouches. There's only a handful of teams with truly great receiving corps that are truly better than what we played- namely the Packers when healthy and the Falcons.

    New England- ate our lunch
Houston- they run a more balanced attacj
Indy- we pretty much shut down Luck but other than Wayne they dont have a legit threat
    Pitt- tore us up
Arizona- if they had a legit QB would have done better

I just think instead of trading Revis we need to extend him and fill the rest of the holes via draft, the last thing we should do is create more holes

You do if your fairly sure you won't be able to sign him after 2013 and your fairly certain your not very likely to make the playoffs in 2013. If you take payroll and salary caps, and players desires to play elsewhere, out of the equation then hell no you don't trade someone like Revis. But, Payroll, Salary caps, and players desire to win a ring do enter in to the equation and to blindly ignore those factors based on the "you don't trade a stud" philosophy you find yourself always treading water.

No one will say you should trade Revis because it makes the team better being without Revis, but you do trade him if it makes your team less bad when he's going to leave anyways. And I'm not saying Revis is going to leave, I've never talked to the man, nor anyone in his circle...But New GM this year, Likely a new HC in 2014 and Revis getting ready to leave the prime of his career in 2 or 3 years AND the fact that Revis is going to demand a big contract to stay, he always has and I see no reason he will change on that, you have to at least realistically weigh the options of trading him.

As a fan you don't, in a perfect world you don't, but Football is a business for both the players and management and all aspects must be considered.

But he creates other holes because of the contract he wants... What are we supposed to tie up 25 million at the CB position? Between 2 players that can only affect 2 players? Not worth it. One of them has to go.

You ask what receiving core did we play that challenged us... I just named them, didnt say we did well against them.

We contained NE the first game pretty damn well. Second game is obviously a different story. Houston has legit weapons and dont make excuses for them since they like to run the ball; fact is we contained them outside of that Daniels TD. TY Hilton is a legit threat at this point and Avery is no slouch. What kind of receiving corp do you want us to face??? A healthy Packers team... C'mon, give them some credit. Its the only part of the team that played well, and thats without Revis.

If you can get a 2nd and 3rd/4th this year and a 1st next year (plus the cap savings) it would do this team so much more. Who knows, maybe that first can turn into Anthony Barr?

I'm not saying break bank, I'm saying dont low ball Revis. We payed Holmes #1 receiver money, Sanchez got an extension, Cro got paid because we had a fetish for Nnamdi. Revis deserves his money

Again unless I'm getting a legit package for the #1 Corner in the NFL and likely the best cover corner ever I'm not moving him.

I blame Tanny because if he managed the cap better we wouldn't even be in this mess

That is what I proposed. I said a #1 this year and next and if this years #1 is late, a mid round throw in pick. Revis has always demanded QB money and that isn't going to change. We do have Sanches and Holmes on the books, so trading Revision allows the new GM a chance to bring in two or three players to begin to fill those holes. How great would it be to have two #1's this year and next?

I may not have mentioned it, but I don't believe we have a legit shot in 13. I'm building for 14 and dumping Sanches and Holmes next off season.

The trouble is if we don't trade Revis he will walk away for free after this season - I'd rather trade him for some picks than lose him for nothing (I can't see anyway that we will pay him what his agent is going to demand)
