I have the feeling the anonymous sources are mostly going to be purged by the time the new regime is in place. It's not that hard to figure out who the leaks are and once they no longer work for you: Voila! No more leaks.
Dont worry because its total BS,This same shit was going on with Coughlin when he was about to get fired. Every time a New York coach might get fired Cowhers name comes up, There's nothing special about bill Cowher . Cowher won one superbowl i don't understand poples obsession with this guy.He also went 6-10 two years before winning the Superbowl. The whole notion of Cowher is a joke, besides Woody wouldn't of come out publicly and said Rex will be back next year if this was the case
Cowher is a serious dude. I don't even know if he would come here or if this town interests him in the least. Maybe he's happy in the booth now. Why would you want to tangle with the likes of the NY Jets Fans? But I'll tell you all what. If Cowher wanted to come here and if he felt like he could expend the energy necessary to really straighten out this God-Awful team, I'd fire Rex and the whole crew in a freaking heatbeat.
I don't follow twitter and have not read this anywhere but here,,,who said that this was in the works or could happen ? Anyone besides Tank Francessa
No way. overrated coach...heck Rex is a better X's and O's guy than Cowher on the defensive side of things. This guy was just lucky to hitch his wagon to the uber loyal Rooneys for all these years and had Dick Lebeau running his defenses and Dom Capers/Ron Earhadt(as O coordinator) before him. He's all RAH RAH and nothing else. Propped up by good coordinators his entire career. He's a white Herm Edwards
it was tweeted by some WFAN guys and a few others, my mate called me to chat about something else and asked in passing what I thought about the rumours on twitter linking Cowher to the Jets - my response was "pass" - I hadn't seen them myself so just wanted to check if others had read the same things.
Rex headed out of town today, could someone new be coming in? Rex lost control of this team in November of 2011 and never got it back. Cowher would be in control starting day one.
I say hell yes. Pair him up with a capologist not named Tannenbaum and let Cowher bring in his people. Bring credibility back to this organization.
Maybe because its the offseason? What is he supposed to do? Sit at his desk in Florham Park and eat celery sticks?
Bring in a new face. This team needs its own identity in the worst way. I doubt Cowher would sign on anyway, even with complete control. He could probably get that any number of places, and he's witnessed the dysfunction this year like everyone else.
Cowher coming here is not gonna work for him & for the organization. === Cowher: His name is brought up EVERY offseason. He can be choosy when he takes his next HC job & the Jets are a mess when it comes to salary cap & talent. Also, Cowher spent so many season in Pitt pushing his team to the SB with horrible QB play. Why would he repeat that frustration coming to a team without a QB? As soon as Cowher got Big Ben, he won a SB right away. He knows more than anyone how difficult it is to win without a QB. The day Cowher comes back to coaching, it's gonna be a team with a potential franchise QB. Jets: Cowher was only a coach & they need a lot more. Jets need somebody who can bring in talent & somebody who can keep a team competitive for many years as the roster overturns. Over @ Pitt, Cowher had a good organization helping him out with all those duties & he just focused on coaching. The idea that just hanging around in Pitt allowed him to absorb all their way of doing things is not realistic. If you wanna poach from the Pitt organization, you take somebody from the scouting department or an assistant to a football executive. Somebody who saw first hand how all the facets of football operations fit together. ==== It's a stupid move for Cowher to come to the Jets. It's a stupid move for the Jets to hire Cowher.
Why? He's only ever been a coach who did not shop for his own groceries, they were picked for him. He can learn on the job like Rex is?
Were you around last offseason? Usually those kinds of comments from several players point towards a team with no control. Not to mention all the anti-Sanchez comments this year and everything else that came out, I would say there is no control of this team, not by a coach at least.
