Any QB could look like a star when they have a prime LaDainian Tomlinson on their team. Heck, even when he wasn't in his prime, he made Mark Sanchez look halfway decent.

Either Rivers or Romo will be cheap... I would love to get one of them and a 2nd or 3rd round QB. Either of those guys would give this team to compete for superbowl NEXT YEAR. Take the 2012 jets and add in norv turner, tony romo, santonio Holmes, darrelle revis, and someone like Jarvis, teo, werner, mingo from the draft? That's a superbowl contender.

Rivers was an elite QB and then didn't fare as well the last 2 seasons. IMO, you have to look at the drop off around him. Rivers has shown that when he has players to work with, he is elite.

Over the last two years they have had no running game to speak of whatsoever. Ryan Matthews is injured every 6 plays, and when he's actually on the field he has been average at best.

Rivers has a depleted wide receiver corps. No Vincent Jackson, no Vincent Brown, Antonio gates is a shell of his former self, and Malcolm Floyd can't stay on the field. It's no coincidence that their passing game improved once Rivers had Danario Alexander to throw to.

Rivers also has a bad offensive line. There is no more Marcus McNeill, and has been a revolving door at left tackle. There is no more Kris Dielman. I believe heir other guard went to IR early in the year. Their RT is Jeromy Clary...

This is not to say that Rivers needs elite players around him in order to also be elite. He just needs players that aren't horrible, below average, or injured.

I believe that is why Rivers' numbers have dropped off, and not necessarily because of Rivers himself.

Why stop at Romo, let's go get Tom Brady or Drew Brees? They may be a little pricier like say a third or fourth rounder, but it would definitely be worth it.

I really want to draft a QB, and bring in a free agent. We don't need a big QB signing, we just need someone that doesn't turn the ball over. We could trade Sanchez for a 4-5th round pick, and get rid of his salary that way.

Saints & Pats are happy with their QB. Cowboys have constantly missed the playoffs, so Romo's value is down.

Yeah Ok you think the Chargers are giving us Rivers for Sanchez and Kyle Wilson, that is 100% a Madden trade you're proposing, you haven't stated one trade idea that is even within the realm of reality in this thread. The Cowboys will not trade Romo for anything right now, he's an elite QB, it's a ridiculous idea...

what happens when Romo isn't a Cowboy next year? Romo is NOT an elite QB. He's proven to have a penchant for choking, and after his 2nd consecutive week 17 choke job he is no lock to remain in Dallas.

I always liked Rivers. Seems like a dick, for sure, but I would love to see Holmes pulling his punk shit and have Rivers blasting him right back.

Guy definitely has some fire. I just can't see how this trade could happen without Revis being part of it. And NO WAY am I giving up Revis to dump Sanchez, even if the Jets acquire Rivers...

Rivers is a very good QB but not elite.

Lets make it happen. Rivers isn't without his flaws but he still has big play ability and in a new place maybe can be what he use to.

If Norv is forced to bring Rivers along with him to the Jets he'd probably turn the job down.

    based on what?

the Jets offense is not exactly the most inviting of job opportunities as it stands.

I find it hard to believe that Woody is bringing in a new GM to repeat the short-term appease the fans approach that was just tried under the recently fired Tannenbaum.

    For the tenth time....

All of you pro rivers people on here arguing that he is a good QB obviously don't actually watch him play. His footwork has gone to shit. He is very inaccurate. All he does is dump it off to the RB or loft it deep. At this point I'd take anyone over Sanchez but you guys are due for a rude awakening if you think guys like Rivers and Romo are in the good/great echelon of qb's, quite the opposite. I'd much prefer Romo because his decline is not yet where River's is, but it would be VERY unwise to trade valuable draft picks for a guy who's soon going to be as shitty as Carson Palmer.

Rivers threw for the 6th most yards in the NFL in 2011 and the 8th most TD's. He's down in yards this year but still 9th in TD's. He was also really lacking talent to work with this year.

I'm not buying the idea that he hasn't been any good the last two years. The numbers just don't support that. Rivers has never had a big arm either. He's more of a high accuracy, throw guys open type QB than a guy with a rocket arm.

That's why your an idiot because you want this franchise to make a monumental decision like this just by looking at a stat sheet and not actual game tape.
