A first round pick and Sanchez, but it might just be a 2nd rounder. Im not sure what the value is honestly, I know in order get rid of Sanchez we would have to give up something else of major value.

Their is nothing realistic about trading Sanchez for Rivers. Nothing.

His level of play has steadily declined for 2 straight years, and he's something like 31 years old. His ability to protect the football has declined and his arrow is pointing down. He has 2 years, 3 max of the potential to play at a high level.

Sanchez has zero value to us. However, he does not have zero value to the everyone. He is relatively young, needs a change of scenery, and in a trade the Jets would eat most of the hit. After next year the team that gets him can either cut him lose if it doesn't pan out or work out a cap friendly deal. That is value to another team.

He thinks Sanchez plus a 5th would get Rivers from San Diego, I mean he's either just fucking with us or delusional. Sanchez has zero trade value, he is a terrible QB with a huge salary, tough to find a GM looking for that combo.

Nobody said the Jets and Chargers were talking. Internal means it doesn't involve other teams.

It becomes painfully obvious the people who watch the Jets with blinders and those who pay attention to the entire league. His huge salary can be re-negotiated and his huge hit would go majority toward the Jets cap. What is so hard about this?

The perception of Sanchez around the league is honestly not as bad as our perception as Jets fans. A lot of people still feel he has potential, 4 road playoff wins is an incredible accomplishment and a many people feel like he can still be fixed, just not in NY though.

You realize its 2013 and not 2009 right?

Nobody is giving up a 1st or 2nd round pick for today's version of Philip Rivers. Absolutely nobody.

Umm he stinks... Why the hell would the Chargers want him? Give me one reason why a GM ships off Rivers a guy who has played at the highest levels in the NFL for statistically the worst QB in the league due to make 8.5 million? He would be fucking lynched in San Diego.

Yeah but we have to give them Sanchez to. Sanchez is going to be difficult to get rid of unless you attach to something of value.

Which is exactly why trading him and another team knowing the Jets eat most of the hit with the ability to re-negotiate Sanchez's deal or cut him after 2013 may be somewhat enticing to a team with a 31 year old QB who's value is declining year after year, who just fired their HC who was hip and hip with said QB.

The Chargers cannot and will not demand a lot for Rivers. The Chargers know Rivers value is only going to decline from this point forward.

you're right, it's worse... No GM is looking to put his job on the line to go all in on Sanchez and dump a guy like Rivers.

Not if the situation is correct on both sides. From a team need and current situation perspective it makes perfect sense for SD and for the Jets. We could trade them a late pick or even make it conditional.

Who is going all in? Who said the team taking him needs to go all in? They are not eating a contract that has 5 years left on it with massive implications. The massive implications are eaten by the Jets?

Philip Rivers is NOT who he used to be. This is a fact.

Ok a 2nd and Sanchez's lousy contract for Rivers? Its tricky as hell, we could also ask SD for a 5th or 6th back to,

Well when he had weapons he was great, when he lost the weapons he struggled similar to Sanchez.

Please understand that the lousy contract you are thinking of which includes the dead money hit is eaten in large part by the JETS, not the CHARGERS. The Chargers can absolutely re-work Sanchez's deal in a trade to make his base salary less in 2013 if they chose. And frankly, Sanchez will have no choice but to take it. Even if they don't they can cut him with minimal impact after this season. I don't know why you think SD would be taking on some massive cap hit by bringing in Sanchez because it's just not the case.
