As for what I want, Jarvis Jones or Damontre Moore, otherwise we should trade back. I like Teo, Warmack and a few others, but we need to improve at a lot more positions than just one. We need all the talent we can get. Trading back would be the smart move unless a franchise QB or a stud pass rusher is available, and the first part of that equation is already answered, so stud pass rusher(Moore or J. Jones) or trade back.
I wanna trade pack into the late teens and snag him and pick up another 2nd round pick giving us like picks: 18 or so, 40 and 50 or so, that's 3 potential starters right there with high impacts
Could be, I'm not familiar with the draft philosophies of the teams ahead of us and if they are purely BPA or if they are a combination BPA/NEED drafting team. To be honest I think the Chiefs try to trade back and if they can't, they may go OT. Been hearing a lot in in the local media that if the current team leadership stays (about 60% likely that both the HC and GM are gone, and 100% likely the HC is gone, KC Chiefs fans are not tolerant of losing) and if they stay they may go Joeckel and the Eagles are about 50/50 on taking an OT unless they sign a free agent OT. Speaking of the Eagles if they cut Vick there's a very good chance the Cardinals will pick him up and draft a QB in the 2nd, in which case it's very probable they'll go OT in the first as well. So there is one possible scenario where 3 OT's are gone off the board in the first 5 or 7 picks. Now obviously there's a good chance the Eagles keep Vick, and the Chiefs front office may be under so much pressure to draft a QB they reach for for a QB at #1. and btw thank you for the compliment on the draft situation coming from you it's valued.
I just noticed a snag in the #9 pick. I was looking over ESPN final standings and both the Titans and Jets have .512 final SOS. Now I know ESPN isn't a glowing endorsement when it comes to opinions but they almost always have the stats correct. if this is correct, then If I'm reading the tie breakers correctly it then goes to Divisional records and the Titans were 1-5 in their division and the Jets were 2-4, meaning the Titans would draft at #9 and we draft at #10. anyone know to what integer the NFL uses when determining SOS? Is it just the standard 3 digits or do they go to 4?
God, are you fools still talking about drafting for defense? Don't you get it even yet? The Jets still ended up with the #8 defense and lost 10 games. If they had the number one defense they would have probably lost 9. They had better spend whatever picks they have this time on offense or they will just set the franchise back another few years to go with the 5 or 6 they already have.
If Mark is still the starting QB we will need the 85 Bears D to win 8 games next year....I dont care who his wideouts, te's and rb's are he sucks.
Just to update this SBnation says I had it backwards and conference is the first tie breaker. If that's correct then the Jets are indeed #9
SBnation shows us at #9 pick, I was a little worried for awhile when I saw the SOS for the Jets and the Titans were tied with the same percentage. I had thought it was divisional record then conference record that were the next tie breakers and if I had been right the Jets would be #10, but SBnation says it's conference and then divisional record so the Jets are #9...I'll go with them because they've generally been accurate and I'm not certain on the tie breaking order. http://www.sbnation.com/nfl-mock-draft/2012/12/30/3819356/2013-nfl-draft-order
NFL.com also confirms the Jets at #9, this has not been my finest day on being 100% correct lol. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap10...-draft-order-kansas-city-chiefs-own-no-1-pick
I'm still not sold on jones till we here more about his medical condition from the combine. I'd add Damontre Moore into that list as well.
Is there any chance that we could drop down 4-5 spots and still get Moore? My initial thought is that he will be gone 8-10.
I agree, but the problem is there is no QB/WR/RB worth taking at 9 (unless you are enamored with Geno Smith and he happens to be sitting there, which I doubt). So at 9, if you go offense, you're looking at an o-linemen. I think the team is better off trading down and trying to coup an extra 2nd/3rd.
He's been rising In mocks over the last two months. Lately he has been anywhere from 4 to 8. It's possible he could go lower, but not likely.
You do not draft a shitty offensive option over a great defensive one. BPA that fits a position of need. Suggesting we draft a mediocre skill position player over a top end edge rush makes you look foolish, but then again you pop into the draft forum two months a year and prove it over and over.
Was working on a long post, but it got deleted. Here's my general plan from No. 9: TRADE DOWN!!! It's easier said than done, but this team needs young, cheap depth. How do you get that? Trading down. Trade down to 16 or so, pick up a 3rd and a 4th, maybe add a 6th or 7th back. 1. OG Chance Warmack, Alabama 2. QB Tyler Wilson, Arkansas 3. LB Brandon Jenkins, Florida St 3. TE Dion Sims, Michigan St 4. RB Johnathan Franklin, UCLA 4. OT Manase Foketi, West Texas A&M 5. WR Conner Vernon, Duke 7. some cornerback/safety
well we will have to see who the GM is and what his track record is regarding the draft. the first pick of a tenure is likely to be the safest so staying put at nine and taking OL could be the way it goes.
Update on full 7 round draft order. No more projections so teams with undetermined draft order are preceded witha "??". Order reflects all known trades and best guestimates on current status of conditional picks. I'll update this every week through the Superbowl for the dratniks who want to do more than the first round on a mock. 1st Round 1 Chiefs 2 Jaguars 3 Raiders 4 Eagles 5 Lions 6 Browns 7 Cardinals 8 Bills 9 Jets 10 Titans 11 Chargers 12 Dolphins 13 Buccaneers 14 Panthers 15 Saints 16 Rams 17 Steelers 18 Cowboys 19 Giants 20 Bears ??
