Fans everywhere despised Santonio and they decided to keep him. Jets fans that were fans prior to Tebow's arrival generally despised the Tebow move. People were not happy with the Braylon situation. This team seems to keep it's radar out of the general fan approval consensus.
if sanchez had any decency, he'd waive the years remaining on his contract and leave...it doesn't do him any good to stick around, picking up his undeserved salary and all the deserved abuse that comes with being such a shite qb...he needs to try rebuild his career elsewhere and jets need to rebuild without him stinking the place out week in week out... doubt it will happen, but i'd feel pretty shi*y picking up such a paycheque when I'm doing fcuk all to deserve it
I was thinking/hoping he should/would agree to substantially reduce his salary in order to bring in more talent, if he is promised a chance to compete for the starting position.
I would just ask him to waive it and introduce him to bench. He's not an NFL caliber QB. Today was the final straw. We shouldn't have to hand the ball off every down because we have a terrible QB.
I can't believe you were actually at the game today, man. Good job! I have to hand it to the Bills fans... the stadium looked pretty full as compared to our Meadowands Mausoleum. I noticed how many fans were still in their seats in the 4th quarter. Jets fans would have never even shown up with that record. Glad you represented us today, however disappointing.
I don't see any GM being stupid enough to trade for Sanchez this offseason. The Jets should draft a QB with their high pick, and will have to live with Sanchez as their backup for a season due to money. They also need to draft a RB.
eh wrong, I didn't want Schotty gone, I've been fed up with Sanchez since last year and said at the beginning of the season this was the make or break year for Sanchez....obviously it was break.
I would agree with that if there were better QB's available. I think we need to fix our OLB and o line, and use free agency to add a RB and go into 2013 with a WR corp of Holmes, Edwards, Hill, Kerley, Gates. TE Keller, Kevin Boss, RB Mendenhall or Steven Jackson. If it were up to me I would let McElroy start, and bring in a vet like a Hasselbeck or Grossman to be the backup.
Okay, your crazy. Look at it this way. Completion % 2009 53.8%, 2010, 54.8%, 2011 56.7%, 2012 54.8% Average per attempt 2009 6.71, 2010 6.49, 2011 6.40, 2012 6.49 Interceptions 2009 20, 2010 13, 2011 18, 2012 17 TDS per attempt. 2009 1 TD for every 30.3 attempts, 2010 1TD for every 29.8 attempts. 2011 1 TD for every 20.9 attempts (Actually a fairly good year there in that one category), 2012 1 TD ever 32 attempts. Fumbles, 2009 10, 2010 9, 2011 10, 2012 12 (note not all fumbles were lost, but every ball on the ground is at best a 50/50 recovery chance and each is a very possible turnover) I could go on, but statistically this year has been Sanchez's average season. the difference is he's not surrounded by players who can hide his flaws. He is, as they say, naked for the world to see for exactly the player he is.
I don't think we would do any better with McElroy than we have with Sanchez. I want us to take whatever half decent QB FA is available (FFS don't trade picks for anyone), have sanchez ride the bench (we cannot afford to cut him) and take the best QB available in rd 3 - see how it goes (and if its a disaster then go for the top QB prospect available we can snag in 2014 (probably with a new HC and coaching staff - a total slate wipe a la the Colts).
was also there today...i was impressed with Bills fans, the place was pretty full. Bills fans also get a bad rep. There was some expected ribbing but all in good fun, they really aren't as bad as people make them out to be.
we cannot fit Flynn under the cap. We need to work out some cap issues and hopefully Sanchez throws the Jets a bone. Otherwise we are very cap strapped next season. This new GM has his work cut out for him.
