As this season comes to a painful close in buffalo I'm already thinking about next years "circus". Jet nation is ready to rid the organization of so many scapegoats when we all need to look at the situation and accept the fact that Sanchez is the main factor causing jets to fall like dominoes. IMO we need to get him OUT of the locker room for 2013. Not that he's a bad guy, there is just a certain stigma about him... Thoughts.
They need to get rid of a lot of players.. as well as FO 1st you fire GM, sign legit one 2nd you fire OC sign Norv.. or someone legit. 3rd you give our DC the money he wants. 4th you re-sign necessities.. Landry..exc 5th you sign a QB in free agency and put sanchez as back up till he can be cut without such a big cap hit. 6th now that you have a good GM let him evaluate some good draft picks since we will have top 10 picks.
I have to work tomorrow but I'm really excited about Black Monday. I can't wait to see the decisions that are made.
No, there's just a big difference between being a lockerroom cancer (Holmes) and an on-field cancer (Sanchez). Anyone that advocates turning Cap Hell into Cap Burning Inferno by frontloading the additional $4.3 million is moronic.
He isn't going anywhere, If we cut him it will effect this teams cap and decision making for the next 5 years. No way he gets cut he will just get demoted to second string. There's no way around it let him sit then release him when the time comes, in the mean time bring in Alex Smith or someone like him
yeah. luckily it's just one year, right? effectively him earning 8 million as a backup means about three players they can't sign to help the team. it's a crap handicap but not insurmountable, i guess.
And yet the locker room went to great lengths to defend Sanchez much of the year, to the point of ripping Tebow in public and private.
That's Tanny logic. This team won't be able to afford 22 starters paid above the veterans' minimum, much less another expensive QB.
There is so much wrong with this team. Sanchez in the locker room does not even make the list. He is a problem on the field, but let's not over simplify this and put the entire blame for everything that went wrong on one person.
Smith is Sanchez in 4 years with a great coach. Smith was awful for the first 5-6 years of his career and is a game manager. The Jets and Ryan need to realize that you need more than a game manager in today's NFL. Even Harbaugh realized that which is why Smith is on the bench. This is a QB league and Smith is not the answer.
Sanchez will be back next year competing for a job, and hopefully ends up with splinters for the season. Don't expect any Alex Smiths or the 2nd stringer from Wash showing up in camp. Expect Sanchez, Vick, McElroy, and X. I don't want to see Vick but we have no idea whom X will be and it will most likely be a shitty 2nd stringer like Henne or Moore. We need to draft Offense - specifically OLine and we need another running back or maybe we can get an FA RB with much better abilities than Greene. Powell is not the answer unless you plan on him running security at Nakatomi towers. /DieHardReference
