AS, your point is well taken, but where we differ is the evaluation of Ryan. You see a success, I see a failure. Good first season with the prior administration's players, snuck in the second season and surprised a couple of teams. The last two years have been a slide down to shittyness. And over all four seasos, I've seen terrible in game strategy, horrendous clock management, failure to adjust, comical personnel decisions, and an admission that he lost the team and didn't know what was going on in the locker room, which for me is grounds for firing right there. And I won't even get into the off the field nonsense.

I'm not naive to the point of firing a successful coach for a bad season. But based on what I've said, I don't see this guy as successful. What do you and others see that make you think this guy is so great? Continuity is important when you are building towards success. This guy is steadily moving to failure.

When the talent level goes down dramatically in two straight years the GM's going to get blamed.
When the supposed inventor of the wildcat uses a vanilla version at all the wrong times and has never been a coordinator before, the offensive coach is going to get called a moron.
When the QB has FIFTY turnovers in two years, the QB's going to get blamed.

Rex deserves his share of blame too, particularly for this cancerous atitude in the locker room that's been allowed to fester for two years and his misplaced loyalty in the wrong people. I still don't want to fire him yet but next year is third strike territory. He's gotta get this back on track or he needs to go too.

I'd agree that Rex is definitely not a success, but nor has he been proven to be a total failure. I'd really love to see what Rex could do with an average OC and QB, rather then the dog shit he's had since he's been here.

Rex should be ashamed of himself. The whole team has packed it in. Keep letting Sanchez play, I'm sure he will get better. Disgusting to watch.

Yeah, when two short FGs are tipped, it's obvious that no one is even trying.

Still.. if they were they wouldn't have 9 points. if I was rex I would be blowing my top off yelling at each player making them comprehend whos jobs are on the line how bad they make themselves look and reminding them we are LAST !!!! behind the BILLS in the division this year.

Last place in the AFC East is like being last place in the Special Olympics.

Didn't Rex say this was the best team he's ever had? With judgement like that how could he not possibly be the best coach in New York Jets history or in the history of the NFL for that matter.

Rex is shoveling the shit at his post-game presser about not wanting out of the HC job. I can smell it from Buffalo to here.

Actually, we're tied for last. We're technically third due to tiebreakers.

And as far as being a 'great' coach, they quit the last two weeks. That's not a great coach.

i like rex and want to find a way to not pin this situation on him. but it's so tough. i do agree that continuity is a key for any sports team - particularly in the nfl. i don't want the coach fired. but at the moment...after watching the team really pack it in. against pitt and new england and these last couple games where they got their qb sacked eleven times and the joke that was today... it's very hard to defend rex and i wouldn't have much to say if woody totally cleaned house.
