Apparently so. His resume says he's coached.

I'm never impressed by these high level exec hires. I'm just glad Woody realized he shouldn't handle it himself.

Agreed. Upon first look it appears to be a good move and one that should give the team a little hope. Woody possibly staying out of any personnel moves is great news

The only good news out of this is Tanny is out. I hope they bring in someone who knows football. I am fucking tired of cap genius stuff. I want people who knows Football.

Good sign. Bring the experts in to figure out how to put a the organization together. This whole organization needs a good dose of humility to move forward.

No more acting like we are 1-2 pieces away from a Super Bowl during each offseason. We should not cut half our draft class like last season or trade away picks for another bust in the first round.

I always said a true cap genius wouldn't have to restructure deals every year and would always have cap flexibility every year

It's great that Woody realizes he's not a football guy & is actually looking for help when making a big decision like this. If this consultant isn't an asshat.

Surely a competent consultant will steer Woody towards somebody that has some history drafting, scouting & hopefully worked close to GM in a successful franchise.

I just read his bio. An except from it:

"He led the development of psychological testing, competency development and structural behavioral interviewing for the Super Bowl San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers"

That's all fine and good but is he a football guy? You could be the leading expert from some executive consultancy firm and still not know shit about the game of football.

Only the f'in Jets. I pray this guy knows how to evaluate talent and bring in the right GM/architect for the job. I really do.

I agree. Woody should hire an outside firm to coordinate the hiring of an outside firm to coordinate the gm search.

    Leave nothing to chance.

Well, he wouldn't necessarily have to know football and evaluating talent (assuming you're speaking about players and not the GMs he'll be looking at) to pick a good GM. He'll obviously make one of the prerequisites of the job knowing football and not having an accounting background, or a background other than football players and their development. Le'ts hope for the best. The 49ers haven't won a Super Bowl in nearly two decades so he's been around for awhile.
