Edwards,Holmes,Kerley and Cumberland are above average, I forgot Hilll, and Sanchez would be markedly improved by getting the ball out of his hands in three seconds.Simms mentions it all the time, and in losing Haley, and only getting Sparano....they left Sanchez with too many long routes, no screen game, and a bad slant game and Austin Howard at RT

I don't think so, but Francessa mentioned it.

There are three options for Revis

    1. He plays out the 2013 season and walks.
    2. He claims injured all year so he doesn't have to play, then walks.
    3. We trade him and get the best deal available.

We can not afford to redo his contract, and restock our offense. I would be pissed to pay him a huge new contract and have four more years of shit on offense.

A lot has changed since the 90s. Not to mention the 90s offense had 1st round draft picks at almost every position.

I read somewhere that trading Revis would free up little to no cap space in 2013 but trading Cro would free-up close to 10 million dollars. Personally, he is the guy I would trade. He is coming off one of his best seasons. You never know if next year he reverts back to his inconsistent self. If we do that, we would of bought low and sold high.

NE, Bal, Pit, Cinci, Den, Hou, NYG, Phi, Dal, Was, GB, Det, Chi, NO, TB, Atl, 49ers, Sea, Ari... all teams I would rather have at the skill positions. That puts them at at least 20, which is below average.

Schotty's system was about as dink and dunk as you can get. One of the main criticisms with him is that we never went down field (something we thought to be one of Sanchez's strengths). Now we want to go back to that style?

One of the major flaws with Sanchez is his accuracy on short routes- especially hitting a receiver in stride. And Austin Howard has not been as terrible as you are making him out to be... PFF has him rated around 32 in pass blocking and top 5 in run blocking for all tackles. For an UDFA, thats not too bad.

The only major change I would make this off-season is at GM. Leave the coaching staff in tact, let them audition for the new GM for one year to keep their respective jobs. I think Rex and Sanchez have earned at least one more year based on their early success and Sparano deserves a chance run his offense with a full healthy group. If we don't get results, then blow the whole thing up. Note the 2014 draft should be a better draft for QBs.

No quality GM candidate is going to want to sign up with that when there are going to be 4-5 openings else where.

A new GM (or at least a legitimate candidate) is going to want to pick his own staff. He's not going to screw himself over in the future by keeping this circus around.

Sanchez has done nothing in the last two years to warrant any spot on this team, let alone starting at QB, aside from signing that fucking contract Tanny gave him.

Resign Edwards to a short term and money contract and Cumberland, sign Fred Davis (TE is probably the most important skill position w/ Sanchez at QB) and draft a RB that can run and catch the ball (maybe your avatar). The offensive skill positions would be as follows:

WR - Holmes, Edwards, Kerley, Hill
    TE - Davis, Cumberland, Reuland
    RB - Draftee, Powell, McKnight

Aside from who we draft as the RB, Sanchez would have had some experience playing with every skill player listed (remember Davis was his college TE). So no lack of familiarity excuses for Sanchez. Since we likely have to keep Sanchez for another year, I propose these unobtrusive changes for 2013 with the caveat that we blow everything up in 2014 if we don't get the results we expect.

Tony needs to go. The offense was historically bad this year, and there is really no reason to bring him back. I'm just hoping that our FO thinks outside of the box on this hire (As in, a creative, up-and-coming coach... rather than someone who just got fired or has been unemployed).

An interesting candidate IMO would be Geep Chryst (49ers QB coach, who has also had some play-calling duties this year, particularly in the red zone). We need an OC who will keep turnovers to a minimum, and that has been his specialty in San Fran. If our personnel remains largely the same (especially Sanchez), that offense is one that we should be modeling our's after.

It's not unprecedented. Off the top of my head I remember in Cleveland Holgrem kept Mangini for a year. I can probably get other viable examples, if I felt like researching it.

I said his early success warranted an extra year. If you disagree with that, then we can agree that his hideous contract means that he will get another year. Whatever the reason, it's likely he's not going anywhere.

To use Laxin's language "no quality [OC] candidate is going to want to sign up with that when there are going to be 4-5 openings else where". Rex may be gone after 2013, why hitch your wagon to that? If I was a coach looking for an OC job, I would rather go in with a new coaching staff not one on the hot seat.

I would not call Cumberland above average or even Edwards at this point. Cumberland drops passes and worse tips them up in the air. He also runs sloppy routes. Braylon I like and want here but come on above average. He just cut and is slow as balls. He looks like Eric Smith on offense. Maybe its his hamstring but he looks like a completely different player than he did in 2010. I'd still like to see him as our number 3 wideout though. Holmes Hill Edwards and Kerley in the slot. Keller will be cheap if we decide to bring him back. Hes a much better pass catching TE than Cumberland when healthy and they both suck at blocking.
