He's been reading Gang Green forums....

I wouldn't read too much into this.

If this is true, its obvious that Woody is at least making his own decisions because these are all awful candidates. I wouldn't expect anything less from Woody, the dude doesn't follow football.

Norv Turner gives me a lot more hope than Cam Cameron... he's almost as conservative as Sparano.

Cam Cameron would be awful. Most of all, I hope the Clinkscales rumor isn't true. He is not a competent GM for the Jets. The Jets need to stop this BS of bringing in guys because they are familiar with them. Fuck that shit. Bring in someone from San Francisco or Seattle because they are getting the job done, not bringing in someone like Clinkscales who is unqualified for the job. The only reason that he is even a candidate is because Woody knows of him. Woody should sell the team and be put in a nursing home.

One thing I don't get is, don't GM's hire coaches? Wouldn't firing Tanny mean firing Rex? I am not sure a new GM wants to join a team who already has a head coach.

Ugh. Clinkscales has overseen the signings of half the shit we have on the roster. Why would we give him a shot at GM?

Clinksales makes total sense if you are Woody,,,,,,you don't shake things up too much and keep things status quo,,,, ,it will also be likely that Tanny is kept in some capacity,,,,another mistake,,,,,,and then if you bring in this figure head of a gm there will be little or no coaching change. Makes total sense to woody,,,,as far as me,,,,I want to blow it up and give a real gm total control,,,..he picks his own guys / staff ! Anyone who does not get to pick his own staff is just a figurehead / yes man to woody and we can expect more of the same on and on the field.

Also I stated in another thread that if Tanny is relieved as they say,,,that does not mean he is gone ,,he could be given another title within the organization,,,in my eyes that is a mistake ,what GM would want the former gm to still be around to possibly undermine him ? Clinkscales is a perfect fit for woody but a downright stupid pick to almost any jet fan ! Blow it up top to bottom means clean house no promotions from within,,,,,,,we will see how this plays out but I have a bad feeling about this

i'm starting to get annoyed at woody johnson.

  11. Not suggesting I think Clinkscales is the best option but there was alot of speculation that one of the reasons he left last year is that he had had enough of Tannenbaum's insistence upon trading up in every draft.

If you take a step back & look at all the acquisitions over the last 5 years or so..the actuall player evaluations have been at least average. But what has killed the team is the constant trading up & lack of regard for draft picks. That falls on Tannenbaum.

Norv fits the personnel we'd be returning as OC.

But how is Polian not on the list for GM

No way to Cameron. Players don't seem to respect him at all and he's conservative as hell.

I have a feeling we aren't going to be happy when all is said and done.
Clinkscales as GM? This would be a major let down.

NO TO CAM CAMERON. He's the Ravens version of Brian Schottenheimer. No way in hell. Get Norv in here right now Woody! Stop the bullshit.

If the Jets are going to hit a hard reset on the QB position and pick up one of the kids in this year's draft, I'd really like for the Jets to look at Coach Ault or someone in that vein. With a full offseason, I think the returning personnel could work well in either a pistol zone read, which seems to be the way things are headed. It could also just be a flavor of the season offense though.

If we're sticking with Sanchez, Turner does look really good. As frequently mentioned on the board, Turner got something out of Smith in SF and has had his share of success calling plays and salvaging QBs. Maybe things won't be so bad as far as OC goes :)

Yes to Norv, No to Cam. As for Clinkscales, maybe I just have a negative view of him because he is tied to Tanny. I want some fresh blood and fresh outlook on how this franchise should be ran. The past two years have really been disgusting.
